Most airlines (except Southwest) fly individuals under 15 as unaccompanied minors unless they’re flying with someone older than 16. If flying as unaccompanied minor, the fee is $150 fee each way, and the minor needs to be checked in and out of the gate by an adult. School policies about assistance with checking in and out of gate likely vary by school. SPS has notified new parents that they are not able to provide this service. It’s best to either 1) fly Southwest or 2) fly with an older student if using other airline.
