thanks! do i read the whole thing? or just the writing part

It would never hurt, but the writing is what I found most useful.

@parthp1128 Hi, I’m sorry for leaving yesturday without answering your question. :frowning: emergencies… I kinda agree with MickyS 's opinion. Many of my SAT teachers
suggested not to answer but skip to the next portion if you seriously dont get the question. And I guess kestrel24 has been helping you alot too, although I still wanna challenge you on with the 80 words of vocab a day. haha It’s up to you :).
Just a tip, when you memorize words, try to link them with whatever weird stuffs
for example the word benign -which means “KIND”
I got the latter portion ‘nign’ and linked it with the numer ‘nine’
and since I’m a Korean, I translated the word ‘nine’ to “Goo”
Hmm and well, I thought of pigeons and for me their sounds were like “goo goo goo”
And as you know, pigeons symbolize peace right? so I thought peace comes through kindness. Now that I wrote it, it really sounds complicated but I dont know…:)) it works
on me. So if you’re the imaginative and creative type, you might want to play with words
as you memorize them. It’ll be less tiring :D. Do well Parthp!

For short term studying, u can also group similar words together and make up a story/ sentence. Constantly going back to DH never hurts. For math, keep practicing; from ur score, I guess the problem lies in the wording of the question? There are some books (such as mcgrill) that teach u how to translate questions into equations. Maybe thatll help  And for writing, make sure to understand EVERY rules (there aren’t that much, all of the SAT questions is based on merely 36 rules) my goal is around 2100 too  good luck to us haha

Daydreaming, good luck! I’ve been going over the Silverturtle guide and I get most of the rules, I’ll be reading through it for the next week, and then take a practice test, lets see what happens  I can feel that 2100, but we just have to be determined. I’ve slacked off this whole summer, I went to a tutoring place called ■■■■■■■■, i gained 100-150 points, but for 1000 dollars, It was not worth it.

I have a month to go up 500 points, people say the only way to do it is to study study study, and I’m determined to do just that. I think the only problem for math is the wording of the problems. I ordered DrChungs math review book, so I will go through the book to get my score up to a high 700 or possible an 800 ;)

For Critical reading, I got Direct Hits V1 and V2. 400 words alltogether which would be 20-25 words per day. But thats only for the vocabulary, I don’t know what I will do about the reading passages?

Any advice to gain from a 500 to atleast a high 600 or preferbly a 700 in the reading passages? How do i prepare for it?

If you haven’t already seen the thread, Kaplan has an online question bank that’s free until sometime in October. You’ll find it if you Google it (I don’t want to post the link). I don’t know how accurate the questions are, but the CR passage questions have very good explanations. You can set it to only give you medium and hard difficulty passage questions, which personally I have found very helpful.

Eww, no don’t go near anything that says Kaplan. yuck.

@MickyS, have you even seen the thread?

How did you have 1490 if you scored 430 680 and 430?
