#1 Regret in High School

My biggest regret from high school was that I graduated. I miss it so much and would give anything to go back. Why did I have to graduate?!? College sucks compared to high school.

Although I'm only a junior, I'd say I regret 1) not starting ECs earlier (I now have come to like mine a lot), and 2) not being social enough. I've missed out on a lot for no real good reason.

working my ass off freshman and junior year, then burning out junior and senior years.

Dropping orchestra jr/sr year. 2 AP classes were not worth the loss of music in my life.

Regret is dumb. Advice to students just entering High School would be to just have a good time. Challenge yourself, but don't put all of your effort into getting good grades. Dreams of Harvard and Princeton are only achieved if you give up your whole life, and you don't want to do that. Go out, party, have a good time, make friends.

taking orchestra, instead of focusing on courses that are not utter crap.

I regret not trying out to be onstage in any of the fall musicals. This was partly because of a heavy courseload (all classes I wanted to take, though) and partly because I chose to be in the pit orchestra for two years.

I would've been more outgoing. I'm a bit shy, so for instance I skipped the homecoming dance the first three years of high school. Definitely a mistake. Otherwise, I dunno, high school was OK. I'm definitely ready to leave though...

That I didn't get out sooner?

No Extracurriculars!!!!!!!!!!!

Not having enough fun. Seriously, high school should be the most care-free time of your life. Enjoy yourselves.

Well I guess everyone can regret "not working hard enough" as there is always room for improvement.

But anyways, my biggest regret was not getting involved until my senior year. I have no one to blame for that though, when I was a freshmen a senior told me to get involved and not wait until its almost over.

Not trying to get laid. There. I said it.

Taking a weird schedule => I was never in classes with the same people every year.

In my school there are four "tracks" which you're pretty much expected to stick to, meaning people in the same track take all the same classes and become really close with one another, and people who don't follow any track (i.e. myself) get less opportunities to make friends. Meaning I was well-liked throughout high school, but never got close to a particular social group. But at least it meant I didn't have to take any of the stupid classes, like IB French or TOK.

Hopefully I don't pass out of any classes when I go to college. (It's unlikely anyway.)

I'd be interested how people's answers would change if you asked them 5 or 10 years after graduation.

I dont really have any regrets right now that I am a junior. I jus wanna party more

Not discovering robotics until now. [I'm a junior still]

Concentrating on math and science and not discovering my interest in the arts until my senior year.

Definitely it has to be studying and stressing way too much just for that A+ in my classes. generally i didn't have a social life and just studied 24/7 for the SAT. Now, I realize that I would've been exactly where I was even if I didnt study so hard. My goals weren't that difficult to accomplish but I regrettably believed it was more difficult than in actuality. Im never going to have my high school years again and that just makes me mad that I didn't make the best of if! oh well, thats life, I guess you can't have it ALL!

Not enjoying myself enough. I wasn't living, I was only studying.
