Hi, I would like to know if the 10 real sats red book is still useful, even though its from 10 years ago(2nd edition is what I'm talking about). The SATs have evolved throughout the years, so I had doubts about getting the book. Thanks in advance

It’s still great for practice. As far as math goes don’t waste your time with the comparison questions, and be aware that you won’t see all of the topics there. But the multiple choice and grid in questions are still worth doing. I can’t speak for the verbal section, but I’m sure it’s similar.

It contains Sentence Completion and Passage-Based Reading as well as Multiple Choice Math and Student Produced Response Math. So yes, it is useful. Some of the material was actually recycled for the blue book. This confirms its relevance, but also takes away from the amount of new material you would have if you purchase it.

I said to D2 to go through it very quickly, obmit the analogy section. She is doing express SAT prep in 10 days or less, can’t afford to waste time.

Can someone tell me which tests overlap in the blue book and the red book? I found a list of released exams, but it didn’t have enough info to tell me which tests overlap. Thanks to everyone who responded, btw.

I have not gone through the entire Red Book but so far I did not find any overlap with the BB…

Okay, I am glancing through it now. Red Book #5 is has the passages on animal perception, DuBois and Garvey, Getty’s museum, novel about Susan Ward. The SC are also in the Blue Book, as are the math sections.

Red Book #8 has the passages on Waverly and the pendant but that is it.

That’s a quick analysis…
