I am wondering if it is a good idea or has anyone used the Red Book, 10 REAL SATs by Collegeboard to prepare for the new SAT. i am interested in the critical reading passages and questions as i am out of those questions in the blue book =(. I also have the 11 prac tests by Princeton but i feel that the critical reading questions are kinda... weird and different from the blue book. I was also wondering if the critical reading questions for passages from the 10 real sat I resembles the questions from the New Sat.

anyhoo any advice would be greatly appreciated! thanks

The Red book doesn't contain short passages as they were not there on the old SATs. However the long passages are almost similar and praticing them will surely increase your critical reading experience, so I feel first you should complete the long passages of the red book and then go for PR.

When are you taking the test? If you have the time, then it might be worth doing the old tests, but honestly, I would focus on practice tests for the current test.

I like the PR tests, although I hate CR in general. But I think the PR questions are pretty realistic.

I say do it. It is great practice-additional yet fundamental practice- and it is even recommended by Xiggi. It would be great not only because of more exposition to SAT stuff but also because of the fact that they are ACTUAL tests!!
