100+ point Writing fluctuations

I've been doing a few writing practice sections for the upcoming October SAT and have seen that sometimes I get as low a score as 650 and sometimes I get a near perfect score. Does this mean I know all the material and I'm just not focused sometimes? It's kind of frustrating when this happens...

Are the practice tests all from the same book?

Ya they were all either from the blue book or released tests from the collegeboard so they are all official and real, no third party stuff.

Maybe you’re just out of it some days? If you can get a near perfect, then you’re probably pretty good at the writing section.

If it’s just a focus issue, set aside a specific time to practice so you won’t worry about your schedule, make sure you’ve eaten and rested well, and practice in an uncluttered, quiet place. It’s a really duh thing to say, but things like that can affect how well you do.

Ya I’ll try another section tomorrow and see what happens. Sometimes I can just hear the sentence and know the right answer. Other times I get caught up on minute details that bog me down for some reason. I’ll try to approach my next test calmly lol :-P

So I just took another writing section and ended up scoring a 670 compared to my last score of a 780 lol. On the other hand, I got a 760 on critical reading which I’ve never really gotten. I guess it balances out lol. :-P
