okay, i want to go to UVA, but there's definitely nothing wrong with tech! Oh, and to reason #4, if UVA had such "big time sports", why could they not find a way to beat tech in football maybe once every 15 years?

What? UVA leads all time in the Commonwealth Cup. While football has taken a down turn in the last couple of years, UVA excels in a variety of sports, while VT's existence is defined by its football. UVA currently holds the lead in the Director's Cup standings thanks to strong finishings in our sports, and our basketball team shows a lot more promise than VT's which is floundering at 6-3 or whatever they're at right now.

Plus the point wasn't purely about the sports, but about the academics as well. Usually, you can't find excellence in both in one school at the same time. UVA manages to do pretty well in each field.

Right after my parents arrived today from Alabama, I visited UVA since my sister lives nearby in Crozet. I hadn't been back in a while, so it was cool seeing some of the new construction on Grounds. Damn, the JPJ Arena is huge! The Red Hot Chilli Peppers and Justin Timberlake will be performing there in a couple of months. Man, you current students have it good. Back when I was UVA, big name performers didn't come by too often. I also envy the Comm students who will get to attend classes in the new Comm School. Oh well, I guess it's good to attend a school during a multi-billion dollar capital campaign.

Happy Holidays!

I'm gonna add more than 1, hope that's okay. :)
