10th Grade Recommenders

So I’ve just sent out my college apps, but due to poor planning and a last minute panic, one of my recommenders is my sophomore calc teacher. I was curious if anyone has had any experience sending sophomore recommenders and if they believe that it had an impact on admissions at schools that recommend 11/12 grade recommenders. My second recommender was my teacher my junior year. I realize it’s too late to change anything or worry about it, I was just wondering if anyone has any idea how “strong” the colleges’ recommendation is. Thanks.

For your case, since you used your Calculus (which is an advanced mathematics course) teacher, I doubt the recommendation will be taken any less seriously than your other one. (If the Calculus course was AP-level, then I am 100% certain it will have no impact whatsoever.)

The impact of the recommendation will probably rest solely on what was written inside of it and not the grade in which you had the teacher.

My D used one 10th grade teacher and it was not an issue.
