I do not think it is good for Ivies, you might want to take some APs.

In many schools, 10th graders aren't allowed to take APs. I think in my school, if you fight you can take maybe AP Government and AP Macro/AP Micro, but the sophs I know (2) get Bs and Cs in those classes anyway. If your school is willing to let you take APs, take one or two. Just take the hardest courses available to you and enjoy the challenge, dammit! ;)

AP Computer Science
AP Calculus BC OR AP Calculus AB
AP Human Geography or AP Physics B
AP Chemistry
English 2 h
Spanish 4 h

should I take Calc BC, or AB (i think taking AB then BC is a little redundant)? Should i take Physics B or Human geography (which is suppose to be a really easy class).

I haven't taken Calc yet, nor have I taken Human Georgaphy, I just know that Physics B is a crap load of information that is shoved into a year it's a fairly difficult class.

talking about taking APs in sophomore year...I am also at a boarding school and most of the sophomore class take regular and honor classes, usually on math and sciences, since we don't offer honor English nor History (unlike most high schools I see people on CF attend) until their junior and senior years. And our acceptance rates to Ivy leagues are very high too. Only very few people take an AP class in their sophomore year. However, my suggestion is that take the most challenging courses available for sophomores and if you feel like you can handle harder ones, consider writing a petition to the academic board. Discuss it with your advisor. By the way, your profile says you're from Rhode Island and attending Miss. Porters? I have a friend there also and I'm from RI =)

Thanks chickenboi (I like your name by the way..hehe). I'm planning on taking AP Psych and AP English next year so hopefully that will strengthen things out.

Yes,I'm really good at languages so taking Latin and Spanish is fun and pretty managable for me. Latin makes spanish soooo much easier. I'm think about picking up a third language though and doing a Greek Independent either next year or junior year....

Dragenreborn-Thanks for the advice. People are telling me it's not sooo sooo important to take the AP's in sophmore year, so, I'm pretty much just going to focus on taking the most challenging stuff and doing well at it, and I'll probably self-study a couple AP's. I'll def keep in mind though about writing a letter to the academic office if I find there are courses I'd like to take that aren't open to me.But yeah, I'm a freshman at Miss Porter's School and I know a good deal of ppl so I might know your friend...what is her name??? And wow, that is sooo cool you are from RI. It's seriously so hard to find ppl from here. I'm in Woonsocket, where are u? PM me...
