11/12 Essay scorers... One detailed example, or two lesser ones?

When writing the essay, is it preferable to write the whole thing based on one example that you can give extensive knowledge on, or on two examples that provide more variety but sacrifice detail?

From the practice essays I have done on the PR diagnostic tests, I do an introduction, 2 solid body paragraphs, and oen conclusion that always gets written in the last minute. I think the general rule of thumb is no less than 4 paragraphs, but the collegeboard book shows examples of 3 paragraph essays that got 6s. If you have 2 good examples, id say do those opposed to 1 in more detail.

You can do either really. It doesn't matter much what you write, it's how you write it and how well you substantiate your arguments. I did one example and addressed it for the whole essay and it worked well. It can also depend on the question- my question lent itself to only one example.
