On AOL this morning, there is a link to an article on 11 colleges with free tuition. I'd heard of Berea (KY), but not the others. Some don't look terribly "legit", but others have you "sing for your supper" (work off your tuition).

I have heard of (and seen discussions of) all except University of the People. I think they are all legit, and some are quite prestigious!

Free tuition, yes, but I know at least for Cooper Union that room and board are not free, and living in NYC can be pretty expensive. It would probably be important to check out if there is financial aid for living expenses at these schools. Room and board can get pricey.

i’ve heard of Soka university in California. Free tuition for students who fall below 40-60k income range.

I’ve heard of the service academies. I think they’re legitimate.

Really? I heard they were unaccredited degree mills ;)

But not “free”. ;)

Nope not free.

When we were up visiting (USNA junior/senior parents weekend) and having lunch in King’s Hall on the screens above the dining tables the pictures rotated all the previous and recent mids who had been KIA. Extremely sobering.

Not free.
