11 On Writing? What?!?!?

I felt the same way about my essay and got a 10...

Brand, I'm guessing your go to school on one of the coasts. In the Midwest, the ACT is by far the college admissions test referred to. One reason the SAT just rolls of the tongue when it comes to college admissions, is that it's been around a lot longer than the ACT. Saying that the SAT is a more well-known test does not have anything to do with whether college admissions officers prefer it over the ACT.

I actually go to school in Texas. Maybe in time the ACT will take its rightful place at the top of standardized tests, but everywhere I go (including websites) seems to focus on the SAT...perhaps due to its relative age to the ACT.

Interesting, I would've thought Texans were more likely to take the ACT.

it's all about dem SATs down here. lol

Honestly, when I went to take the SAT the high school was PACKED!
At the ACT testing, it was much less. It may just be for the Houston area though, but SAT gets the respect down here.

In reference to the OP, I got a 9. So not everybody had it easy.. I thought my essay kicked butt too.

And I'm partial to the ACT over the SAT. Mainly because I scored better, so it must be the more accurate test.
