<p>When I finished my ACT essay this June, I thought it was possible one of the worse things I had ever written. Today, I get my writing score - 11. </p>

<p>I felt the same way after writing my essay, and I got a 10.</p>

<p>I got an 8 and mine was a major piece of ****.</p>
<p>I think they went easy with the grading mine sucked and i got a 12</p>
<p>do i have to pay for my scores AGAIN to get my essay score? I paid for my original scores and was thoroughly unimpressed with my 32, and now I have to pay again to get my damn essay!!!!?</p>
<p>I got 11 too, but I barely tried. Though I liked that essay better than the SAT philosophy crap.</p>

<p>Same here, I got a 12 somehow, I had absolutely not idea what the heck I was talking about, it was so different than the SAT essays that I was comfortable with, and my essay stops mid sentence b/c I ran out of time. But, I guess it must not have been bad, shocked though.</p>
<p>Just curious: about how many pages did each of you write for your essays?</p>

but i OFFICIALLY HATE THE ACT and will never take it again. Even if you can take it as much as you want and send the best one in, I hate it.</p>

<p>I personally blame (yes blame because that's what I do) my crappy essay score on the ACT to an even crappier topic. Fast food? Come on! The SAT topic was the need for one to become more immersed in a community for that community to prosper. Which one is better? Hmmmmm...I can bet money that half of the ppl on the ACT essay wrote about "Supersize Me" and McDonalds, just like me.</p>

<p>Colleges do NOT like the SAT any better. At least most don't, anyways. The Princeton Review's ACT guides, which is put out by the Ivy school, have said for years they think the ACT is a far superior test.</p>
<p>Right now, the SAT is going through a lot of transformations to make it more like the ACT. I would say that most schools don't have a strong preference over one or the other -- because a lot of test takers find that they are usually better at one over the other.</p>
<p>Scribner, The Princeton Review is not affiliated with Princeton University. The founder of the test prep is a Princeton graduate and bases the operations out of Princeton, NJ, but that's it.</p>
<p>Plus, Princeton University doesn't even accept ACT scores lol.</p>

<p>But you're wrong as far Princeton accepting the ACT. They do accept the ACT over the SAT. From their official pamphlet:

<p>granted i already said that there are problems with the SAT and that some colleges are encouraging ACT results, check out some random college websites and you will usually see SAT midranges listed instead of the ACT. Ask most people about their standardized test scores, and they will mention the SAT. It doesn't mean the SAT is better...it just means the SAT is referred to more often in the college process. In fact, I've heard many times that most colleges take your ACT score and convert it to an SAT score. There are those that don't, but the majority do.</p>
