Okay. I'll cut straight to the chase. My 9th grade year was okay. I took voice classes, joined a choir(though I had to quit it, too many reasons to list). My curriculum(Christian Liberty Press) is fairly rigorous. I do plan on going to college. I am interested in film and voice performance. I realize that if I want to go to a great university, I definitely need to step it up, especially as a homeschooler. I've been researching and reading books, but I don't know how to exactly put it all together.

So here's my questions.
1) Going into my Sophomore year, what things are suggested for me to do?
2) What colleges do mostly require of homeschoolers?
3) What books do you recommend?

Thank You So Much In Advance!!! :)

Hi tofugirl,

Have you played around with College Board Matchmaker? If you enter your major (voice or film studies) and other information that might be important for you, it will spit out a list of schools that might fit what you’re looking for. It will also list what colleges require of high school students.

Are you interested in Christian schools? Secular schools? Both? Selective? Highly selective? Ones that offer good money? Any particular location or size? Start making a list of qualities you want in a school. Do what you love and find opportunities to excel at these things. Design your high school studies based on what you love, what you’re good at, and what colleges want to see. Go the extra mile if you can. You sound motivated. That’s terrific!
