The last SAT i tool i got a 1480 on but then i took them again in may and now my best combined score is a 1610 (i know not amazing by some of ur standards but i thought i died and went to heaven) anyway can you tell me what my chances are now?

What you have to understand is that the type of schools you are applying to look at two things first-- SAT and GPA-- then they look at everything else. And the SAT is usually considered more important that GPA. These are just facts.

That said, here are the 25th-75th percentile SATS at the schools you want (on a 1600 scale) along with % of freshmen in the top 10% of their high school class:

Your 1610 on a 1600 scale would be a 1073.333. So you would be in the bottom 25% at most of these schools. I am not saying this to discourage you from applying to any of these places. I am just giving you the stats. You have a great GPA (although you still are not in the top 10%) and ECs. So here would be my guess as to your chances:

IU- safety
UMass- safety
PSU- match
Rutgers- match
UDel- match/slight reach
Pitt- slight reach

Well loslobos71, ITOOAD (in the opinion of admission departments) Pitt IS more selective, and IU is most definately a safety school. I know you are upset that Pitt rejected you, but please stop providing false information to other prospective students.

hahahha false information? I never said you were wrong about Pitt. Pitt is definitely a reach. Also, i'm going to a better school and i'm not upset at all. IU is not a safety. As I said, 3.4 1700s and I didnt get into IU. That's not a safety for the OP at all.

I think Pat is definately right. its a safety!
1. They accept 80% of the applicants.
2. their website just implemented new rules for next years class:
students with a solid B average (3.0) will be given priority consideration. Students with above average scores for the State of Indiana (if In state) will be given priority consideration. Students with above average SATS compared to the nation (if OOS) will be given priority consideration.
3. I personally got in with a 3.0 UW and a 1700 on the SATs and with a scholarship. I know tons of others with similar and slightly lower stats that got in as well.

Bundel, U meet all these things and go way beyond.
U have a 3.7 which is above their average and ur SAT score, according to IU is ok. so dont sweat it, IU is a safety.
U have at least an 80% chance of getting in. Im shocked lobos got rejected cause he is the first with those stats I have seen to be rejected. Something must have happened there and if u get rejected I would appeal and u should win.
Ur gonna get in! dont worry!

I applied fairly early, my essays were good, recs were good, etc. Nothing missing. IU is upping their standards anyway. Dont be shocked if it happens to you like it did to me.
