I took the SAT in August as a 10th grader (for 2021-22 Dual Enrollment, which requires SAT scores submitted). I got a 1360, which was FAR below my target. I scored much better on EBRW (720) than Math (640) (which is funny bc I’m in AP Calc BC currently). My question is, is this test score good? How many points do people usually grow from 10th-12th grade? I’m hoping to get into MIT or Georgia Tech, so ideal score is around 1550.

If the schools you are interested in accept mostly students with scores that are higher than what you have, I would take it again.
I improved from a 1280 PSAT sophomore year to a 1500 PSAT junior year and a 1540 SAT that I literally got back 10 minutes ago. You’re in a way better position than I was, having a 1360. The reading section was where I struggled and it’s way harder to master, but you’re already doing fine in that area.
It’s 100% possible to go from a 1360 to a 1550. You’re most likely struggling because the math concepts on the SAT are from a long time ago. There’s a lot of Algebra 1 and Geometry on the Math Section.
My advice is that you take all the practice tests. I took all 10 SAT practice tests once before junior year, and again before senior year. By the end of that, there’s nothing new on the math section that they can throw at you, and the reading and writing just come naturally with practice.
Score variations over time are quite varied by individual, so individual anecdotes won’t tell you much.
CB doesn’t publish exactly what you’re looking for. But under their assumption that PSAT score represent what a student would get on an SAT on that date, a 720/640 on average results in 740/690=1430 by fall senior year
But the upper/lower bounds (1 SD for each of two steps) yields a range of 680-790/600-770 = 1280-1560. So just about anything is reasonably possible.
My kid took her first PSAT 10 in Fall of her Sophomore year. Her second PSAT 10 score the next spring was 100 points higher, while her PSAT/NMSQT that fall was 80 points higher than that (she ended up a National Merit finalist), and her SAT was 70 points higher than her PSAT/NMSQT score.
So you are likely doing pretty well.
