Have you tried the SUNY’s? You have a decent shot there. I think you have an average score there.
Dont get too dejected. All the best.

@PhoenixR: Are you talking to OP or me? Lol. :P

Edit: Lol. Never mind, I think I know the answer already.

OP, glad you have already been accepted to a few colleges. Contrary to what many say here, there are numerous schools with late deadlines (Feb-June in some cases). So, look for schools (if you want more choices than you already have) that have later deadlines, lower median SAT scores, perhaps test optional though many of those desire a higher GPA than you have.
Even if your re-take doesn’t improve your score drastically you already have some options, and can obtain more.
Of course I am assuming you don’t have your heart set on a school that requires scores more than 200 points above your current results (obtaining a score increase above 300 points isn’t typical, even with lots of test prep).
Since the ACT is a little different, if your ACT score doesn’t correspond with your SAT (meaning it is quite a bit higher), you may want to simply submit ACT if you desire a school that does have median scores quite a bit higher than yours.

Yes, there are a lot of schools with late deadlines but those are not the top ones. So I think that’s what OP is looking for but I could be blind. :D

MrPropapanda, I did address if he is looking for more selective schools than he should hope his ACT comes in quite a bit higher than what would be the corresponding score to his current SAT. I also addressed that typically SAT scores don’t increase by 300 plus points…so “top” schools are more than likely not part of his options (and he would need probably a 500 point increase for the typical selective/top school).

Well, then it is my bad then. Cheers.

Its not as easy for everyone, so if 1370 is his/her score, they have plenty of time to improve

I think average is approximately 1400. 1370 is close to average. But it won’t get you into any good universities. Average won’t cut the cheese. You should go take some SAT prep classes or get a book from borders. If your not a senior, you should retake it after a lot of studying.

take the damn ACT. I scored a mere 1700 SAT but a 31 (2100 SAT) on my ACT. SAT is for dumb monkeys and the test makers are born in hell.

No average is 1500. 480 CR 510 M 520 W

Well I got my ACT scores just now and got a 33 and I believe that is significantly higher than my SAT scores.

Based on what you said, the average would be 1510.

■■■■■. I was just wondering, isn’t that average score a 490 in writing, 500 in critical reading, and 510 in math?

mconstant, if you get 1370 i don’t think you put a lot of effort into it. so try hard next time, be confident and spend time study. i’m sure you’ll do much better.

Mconstant, if this was your first time to take the SAT don’t stress out because not everyone is meant to get a 2300+ in their first sitting. Even if they did, it wouldn’t hold too much significance considering the fact that the SAT only tests your ability to take tests. The 25 minute essay section of the SAT doesn’t even look for good writing, only a decent first draft. Is that indicative of your writing ability? Ofcourse not. Will the admissions commitee make an SAT-based admission decision? I bet not. They are aware of the fact that not everyone is a good standardized test-taker and they do take into account the type of school you went to as well. So don’t freak out and put everything into perspective. An admission to a good school does not just ride on SAT scores. However, that does not mean you shouldn’t improve on your score. Aim higher than a 1500 and you’re good to go.

Most schools ARE interested in your extracurriculars, especially if you do them at a high enough level. Especially athletics. If you are just marginally state ranked, you will have A LOT of help on the admissions side from coaches.

1370 is not a good score, BUT with a lot of hard work and practice you should be good
good luck, practice makes perfect happy new year

i’m so sorry

Wow. 1370/2400 on the SAT and 33 on the ACT? Even if a higher ACT equivalence is slightly more likely than vice versa, that sort of difference is unheard of.

A 33 is like… a 2200+ on the SAT? I think you’re set as far as standardized tests go. Just don’t submit those SAT scores haha.
