Yes, I took classes over the Fall and right now I don't know if I want to take them ever again. Is just that, would adding the sport be needed if I have OTHER EXTRACURRICULARS NOW.

But wait, what is OP mean?

Original Poster/Orignial Post- my question was as an EC you listed tennis, then asked if you should add it...not the same as continuing it...it is hard to give thoughts if the information in unclear and confusing

Some of the smartest and most successful people I have known had the ability to comfortably move in different social circles. I would be very afraid for my child if he couldn't get along with people in his neighborhood or high school. Intelligence comes in all types.

Wow, 5,280 views. It feels like a mile of people have visited this. Also, yes, I DID DO TENNIS for a FALL. I don't think I want to continue it though. But yeah, SOMEONE ANSWER MY QUESTION ON EXTRA CURRICULARS!

Rahul, have you seriously thought about delaying a couple years? You'd end up at a much better school in the end and would be most likely able to enjoy college at 16 vs. 14.

Rahul, you may be brilliant, but you sound like you are emotionally exactly age 14. You hear what only you want to hear. I agree with those who think you will be more successful and have a shot at enjoying college if you can wait for a couple of years. If your high school has nothing academic to offer you, perhaps you can work independently with a mentor? You really should try to gain some social skills before you go away from home...you will be alot less lonely that way.

if u dont like tennis dont do tennis... GOSH! how hard is tht ... and why on earth do u want to do something u dont like , do u really have so much time on ur hands tht u can spend it playing a sport ur not into...itll actually make u look worse.. "O look he's played tannis for a whole fall o and a couple of month after that even!! WOW ain't he more committed then this girl who has been playing laccrosse for a decade... again read my previous post...

Okay... Okay... Okay... I decided to delay my application by a year. I am actually going to also try to research over the Summer at either UCLA or this other place a few minutes from my house. Happy Now?

Nice man. Enjoy life for a year, and the research will be helpful in getting you into a better school. I know people who entered at 16 who were fine at graduation. One of my best friends went to college at 16, and he actually liked college so much (Dartmouth) that he stayed an extra year to do research. It helped get him into Harvard med. He is still only 25 and finishing up med school now...

Sweet, Harvard Medical ROCKS. I actually want to go their as their youngest entrance student ever.

But yeah, because I am delaying my applications by a year, I would apply as a junior rather than a sophmore. And I would be able to show a lot more credits including one year of caculus-based physics and one year of calculus. Also, I would be able to show completion of biology courses and chemistry courses.

ok i hope ur not just shutting us up but thats greaattt..now ull have a much better chance... and ur age wont be a big deal either.. im sure it was my advise that so tremendously changed ur mind..lol ---- jk btw

okay 1) this person is a troll

2) this person is an asian american (indian or pakistani most likely). Probably migrated from Pakistan/India with his family in hopes of becoming a doctor. He wants to become a doctor as early as possible (its what they do in Europe and Asia, because they have a post-highschool medical program (no undergrad)).

I'm laughing at this entire post, because this kid is either a) just trolling a lot or b) too stupid and ignorant to realize he's not hot stuff.

I'm suprised most of you haven't realized this already, but another thing to realize is that he hasn't posted his supposed 1500+ score yet.

Methinks that he is taking all these college courses (pre-med reqs), so that he can apply for med school realy early, but I know that he's missing everything an applicant to the ivy meds needs (and I won't go into that).

And your timeworn hobbies including debate club, volunteering, jogging?, ha ha ha ha ha ha. ivies will see past this.

fact is, he is only going into medicine for MONEY MONEY MONEY AND MONEY ALONE.

If you don't believe me, talk to any Pakistani/Indian person and 99 percent of them want to become doctors.

If this person is for real, he's gotta be really ugly in order to skip high school, or his parents must be country people yaar, ha ha ha

you're only opening yourself up for defeat in the long run, academically, socially, and spiritually, so don't be suprised if you're one of the Desi surgeon doctors in his 60s looking for a wife in her 40s or less in some Indian newspaper ad, because you lack the physical and social skills needed for a happy life.

Hey guys,

I don't know why people are still commenting in this thread, cause it looks like it would last forever until they make another forum. LOL, someone brought up this old thread by commenting and then more and more comments came in.

Yes, I am going to have to admit that really SATs aren't much. I personally do believe that above 1400 is good enough for early admission. In fact, I think they have .75 correlation with intelligence? Well, some of that sort. But whatever, SATs is just really a light correlation with college performance. I really think it is a test to just weed out applicants. In fact, Caltech, which does have a very high average SAT score for freshman applicants does NOT ADMIT SAT SCORES for transfer. Largely their entrance is based on examination of Calculus and Physics.

Wow, how funny. LOL, me being really ugly in order to skip high school and my parents being country people. Actually no, you are wrong. Also, what do you mean by troll?

"Methinks that he is taking all these college courses (pre-med reqs), so that he can apply for med school realy early, but I know that he's missing everything an applicant to the ivy meds needs (and I won't go into that)."

Not quite. I know what you're thinking of. I will do research and extra-curriculars.

Okay, I know many people comment on my extra-curriculars. But currently the college I attend does not have much extra-curriculars available to students. In fact, I have been told that I could use that as a good reason to transfer. Also, do understand athat I am 14. I highly doubt many of you had all the extra-curriculars equivalent to ivy league applicants at the age of 14. Don't expect me to be playing sports for years and participating in school newspapers etc.

From now on, I would like to ask that all flamers stop posting here. Only people that give advice. Thanks.

Ay...i think I posted here like 2 months ago...lol i can't believe its still up and all of you people are STILL criticizing him for his desire to skip high school or most of high school...let his firm decisions stay FIRM, what he needs is help on decisions that are still shaky on his part, advice that he asks for, the word "officious" comes blatantly on my mind when i think of the way many of you people have reacted to this thread..next..nothing close to 99 percent of indians WANT TO BE DOCTORS, get a life for even thinking of posting such an absurd statistic, all you posted were ignorant sterotypes...anyways rahul, I have a REALLY good friend of mine (a year younger than me) who is also asian and she was accepted to Harvard University as a sophomore, she took all of sat iis and sat i, and she is a very bright young girl, she's 15 years old, so I hope that atleast gives you some motivation.

I guess we reacted to harshly because the kid was arrogant. Being proud is one thing, Being arrogant but being arrogant without information, facts, etc, is annoying. His story would change, he was unclear, yet he felt he was a shoe in for college. Sorry.

for somebody such as yourself, a self-proclaimed genius, I cannot begin to demonstrate your immense lack of intelligence in all regards.

"It would be under my understanding that the rarity of getting a 1550 SAT score in 7th grade would require AT LEAST a 170 IQ" Oh, don't you only wish? The SAT is a test like any other, it is not a demonstration of intelligence, merely a test, you can study, you can learn, and you can beat it, you need not be a genius, however glorious the idea may seem.

I also assume that you do not have a very large background in literature, something you would get in high school.

Finally, the lack of grammar shown throughout your posts demonstrate your sheer idiocy. If you do plan on going to college, now may be the time, before the writing section is added to the SATs, because even after the writing section were added, I believe you would find it difficult to break 1500.

Hey Rahul,

Ignore these non-productive posts. I understand why you want to be a doctor and I think its a great profession. Honestly, many other professions make a lot more money than doctors these days so that isnt the motivation it used to be.

I think going in at 16 will be much better for you in the long run. I am one of the youngest people in business school (MBA) and honestly I sort of regret it. I wish I were at a slightly later stage in my life here. Life isnt a race. Its good to have friends and a peer group. Keep the Harvard Med goal, just lose the doogie Howser part.

To the self-proclaimed genius:
A.K.A. The impudent, immature, illiterate, grammar-lost, conceited young man.

I shall strive to make this post as concise as possible. Your constant arrogant attitude is extremely exasperating to me as well as many others (I assume by the posts that I have read). Your supercilious comments, not only demonstrate your sophomoric attitude, but show the depths of your shallow intellect. Your lack of comprehension of what it will take to enter the prestigious Ivy League is only more established by your list of ECs and academic record. I am sorry; I do not have the time to point out any other of your blunders, misconceptions and downfalls. If any advice is given, this will be it:

Go to high school, grow up, and lose the arrogance or else I am afraid that you will fail in the todays civilization.

"If you do plan on going to college, now may be the time, before the writing section is added to the SATs, because even after the writing section were added, I believe you would find it difficult to break 1500."

OOOOOOH SNAPPP. THATS LYKE A 1000SAT +500 ON THE WRITING!!!! SNAPPP. BURN.
see what kinds of things you learn from high school? now, dont you wish you could talk like that? or at least possess the skillz before moving on to college where you are sure to be p0wnd?

if you cant tell, im kidding, sorry, its just im putting off reading C&P for tomorrow...

Yes, I am very much well aware of the lack of grammar within my posts. However, from my knowledge apparently grammar is not included within IQ tests. By the way, please don't make any assumptions. Um... Wow... This is just weird how people are posting on this age old thing.
