14 year-old Transfer Applicant(skipped high school)

"This is just weird how people are posting on this age old thing."

not really. you're older than this thread and people still talk to you, right? maybe you find that weird as well?

I don't think your chances are great, not even good. I'm pretty sure that alot of the people on this forum could skip that many grades, but the fact of the matter is that you have nothing behind you. You are too young to do anything. I think that skipping is a very poor decision.

lol, that was funny...i usually dont talk like that...just thought u needed a reality check. I mean you need to learn a lot of stuff (not just educational stuff). You have to understand grammer and learn to write a lot of essays that you really have no interest in. You have to learn how to not be scared (or whatever you want to call it) of other kids your age and learn how to deal with peer pressure/a lot of the other crap that comes along with high school. seriously, sorry if i offended you earlier, high school sucks at first, but you grow to like it and eventually mature by its experiences.

Of course people on this forum have the chance to skip high school. In fact, I know people who have skipped with 1100 SAT scores as is the Early Entrance Program requirement. But yeah, I just decided... Er... I made a bad decision.. Heh oh well. Whatever. Yeah, I know someone that got into Harvard at the age of 16. He had ****loads of extra-curriculars and like a 1000 hours of community service.

folks, one more time i'd like to remind you that 1) he is a troll and 2) he's a greedy indian/pakistani who wants to make a lot of money.

(I KNOW BECAUSE I AM PAKISTANI AND I KNOW THAT 99 PERCENT OF DESIS [people of the indian subcontinent] WANT TO BECOME DOCTORS SOLELY DUE TO MONEY.

This kid, if he is actually serious, takes this to a whole new level, and shows the rapacity/lust for money.

Thus money is his only virtue.

And to call us flamers? I believe you are the original flamer.

Guys, wake up this prepubescent kid is joking around with you guys. You can see it through the name of the title already. He's trying to boost his already low self-ego by posting his "amazing" e.c.s but not his amazing 1550+ score he has boasted of to this point.

And xIndianx, when I mean all students want to become doctors it doesn't mean that they major in pre-med in college. An undergrad student can major in whatever they want in college, as logn as they take the requirements for med schol. So if your desi friend is majoring in english (which is a plus for med school admissions), still means that they are most likely preparing for med school.

(My fellow c.c.ers, stereotypes are based on facts, though they can be warped, however you cannot divert from the fact that steretypes are based on facts and one thing that is a true stereotype is that MOST desis strive to become doctors because of 1) money 2) prestige [in pakistan/india doctors are the most respected group, and are at the highest social class/order in the country] 3) security (all our parnents tell us that health is the only field for financial security)

Like i said, most pakistanis/desis go into medicine for the money. I, however, have lived a relatively disconnected life with other desis (people of the indian subcontinent), but I will be focusing on going into dentistry for a nice life, with good financial benefits (my dad was a dentist though he does wish he became a doctor).

So don't tell me what stereotypes are true or not about my OWN people.

Hey, what are "desis"?

Hey Kid Come To Ucsb With Me!
You'll Fit In Great!

Bololololol!

desi is a term used by indians and pakistanis in america to refer to fellow indians/pakistanis, literally it means "from the nation"....
anyway, high school is NOT a waste of time, to anyone reading this...even if this kid is really smart, high school would help in so many ways for both intellectual, emotional, and SOCIAL maturity

he's a troll

**** With The Troll Stuff

Does it hurt your little ego Troll?

Hey Rahul,

Ignore these guys. They are high schoolers too. Its great you decided to postpone a year.

Heh I don't care. You are just kidding. LOL. I am not REALLY A TROLL.

hehehe were u starting to beleive that u R a troll?? now think again focus focus focococcooccuuussss...ok u will close ur eyes and at the snap of my fingers u shall tell us if u r a "paki desi trolly type thing" who has a great lust for money and will grow up to opperate on ppl and forget his keys inside of their lungs...1....2...3...SNAP of fingers
k...????
jk btw...

oh please, i'm desi and i've never once in my life longed to be a doctor. make that 99% want to be doctors OR ENGINEERS. lol. i like being somewhat out of the box. i want to be a political consultant or lawyer, even though my parents think it's a dirty evil profession :D

anyway, there isn't much point in ragging on the kid for his choices or his "troll"-like behavior - he's made his choices and that's that. rahul, i think you asked about what ECs you should be doing? that's the wrong question. colleges like to see a well-rounded person, true, but they're also looking for a singular devotion to one or two things. what do you really love to do? focus on that and succeed in it, and you'll get more positive attention. try and hold leadership positions in whatever clubs or organizations you're in. and do **** tons of community service. if you're interested in medicine, it may be to your benefit to volunteer at a hospital or do health related work - it'll again show some kind of focus or goal. and it's definitely good that you decided to postpone for a year - the kind of emotional growth you'll experience over that time will definitely improve you, whether you're in high school or not, though i highly advise keeping friends around your own age. social skills are essential for any major and any career; lacking them will result in a standstill in your life and on the payroll ladder, whether you believe it now or not.

MMood87,
LOL!!!!!:D That is sooooo hillariously true!!!! Well, most of it anyway! I'm a desi planning to be a doctor, but not solely for the money! ....I guess that is what they all say but i'm serious. I guess they all say that too! :)

lets stop railing on this poor kid. yes he thinks he's hot stuff...so what? he'll learn the hard way he will only become defensive if people keep name calling. Come on "troll"? where did that come from?

Yeah, whatever. LOL HOW FUNNY TROLL. Hmm... I could judge what colleges I have a chance at. One thing that amazed me was a lot of the universities i called reported average SAT scores 50-100 points below freshman for transfer admissions. Pen's average for transfer is said to be 1320, heh, happy i got at least 100 above that, so I should be safe. But another issue has come up, for some reason my parents don't want me to leave the house until I turn the age 18....

u r an idiot bro
**** stop getting ahead of yourself and go to high school, live, and then go to colleges
take it easy

so did you apply this year? when are we going to find out where you got in?
