1470 to a 1850-2050 possible?

I am currently about to be a junior (so i have lots of time to study... about a year) but I still am not satisfied with my sat practice test results.

Current scores:
math-520
cr-410...
writing-530
essay-10

goals:
math-650-700
cr-600-650
writing-600-700
essay-10-12

Do you think i could get these scores by the beginning of my senior year or by next summer?

Definitely. Just make sure not to lose sight of your studying during the school year. And don’t try and overdo it, you’ll regret it later!

My advice: Study two or three sections from a practice test every day (Stick to one specific section). Make sure to go over the questions you got wrong and even the questions you guessed on and got correct. This is the best way to improve your score.

You’ll eventually want to take a fully timed practice test every now and then to make sure that you’re ready for the SAT when it comes. Try and simulate the actual testing experience, with five minute breaks and everything. The SAT is half knowledge and half endurance, so prepare yourself for both aspects!

Cheers.

thanks collegeattempt… anyone else? plzzz

Definitely, read http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/sat-preparation/955109-silverturtles-guide-sat-admissions-success.html.

If I am taking the PSAT in October, how many hours of studying should I put in?

Yes, but it will require significant amount of time in addition to your consistent dedication.

you definately can considering I did it. My Jr psat score was in the low 1500s and a few months later on the real SAT I was able to score in the 1900s without losing sight of school work as well. Good luck :D!

I’m almost in the same boat you are in. I got a 1690 my first time with no prep sophomore year and I want a 2100.
My advice, Go to borders or Barnes and Knobeles and buy as many SAT prep books as you can. I went there and spent $100 on testing materials. And study for at least 20 minutes everyday. it will really pay off.
As for you critical reading score work really hard on expanding your vocabulary it will all around benefit you. When you’re writing have thesaurus.com open and look for synonyms. got to freerice.com and expand your vocab while doing good. Having a bigger arsenal of words will benefit wou with more than just SATs.

also check out your local library if you don’t want to spend too much $$$. They truly can be an outstanding house of knowledge!

With the right approach and effort, anything is possible. Also, I’ve been in your shoes. I got a 149 on my sophomore PSAT. Junior year I got a 190ish. Now, I’m consistently scoring above 2100 with a goal of improving to 2200+.
