Continued reflected glow from the success of Broadway’s “Hamilton” and a predicted yield of 38%, have resulted in the lowest acceptance rate in Wesleyan’s history: http://wesleyanargus.com/2017/03/30/class-of-2021-wesleyan-record-low-acceptance-rate/

Wow. As a P’19 to a female student athlete at Wesleyan, I can tell you that our expectations have been drastically exceeded. It is a wonderful place to get an education and spend four years. I wish I’d been able to experience it myself.

My D has been challenged in her areas of strength, and I’ve seen amazing growth in areas of relative weakness. She’s better at what she was good at, and she’s getting good at what she used to identify as a weakness.

Well done Wes.

The other thing going on here, too, is that the highly selective LACs in the NE are becoming more of a national brand. I suppose some credit is due to Williams and Amherst for that - they’ve marketed themselves well, and as they’ve become household names, their peers (Middlebury, Wes, Vassar, Colby, Bowdoin) have benefited. It helps, though, for each school to make their own noise in addition to being fantastic schools in their own right. Wesleyan has certainly made a lot of noise recently.
