Until ED decisions come out. Ah, the suspense...

WOOOO!
I just had lunch with a Rice student today.
Sigh, if only it could the first of many lunches with her - on campus, as a student.

Oy.

Wow, you know, two weeks is really soon, but it feels like an eternity. I can't imagine what I'll do if I get waitlisted...

The anticipation is killing me, and if I don't get a letter or email on the fifteenth, I will be highly upset.

Natb, I don't think they waitlist ED. I think if you don't get accepted, you will most likely be deferred. I heard they only reject a few people in the ED stage.

The wait is killing me, too. While my little brother gets excited about xmas, I'm thinking "Who cares about xmas, I hear from Rice on the 15th!!!"

A fair number of people are rejected, rather than deferred, ED.

^^Way to kill the mood.

I'm not trying to kill the mood; I'm trying to tell you that you shouldn't feel awful if you're rejected, because it's not as unusual as you might think.

Man, getting into Rice would be the ultimate Christmas present...

Santa, be good to me!

Getting into Rice would be the ultimate Christmas/Hanukkah/Ramadan/Kwanzaa present fused into one huge blessing from whatever version of God you believe or don't believe in.

Ramadan???

Well actually it's more like Eid. Ramadan = the Muslim holy month... they fast for 30 days and party it up on the last day, buy each other new clothes/presents and feast like kings. Having Muslim friends is cool when they invite you to Eid parties :)

Yeah, I just said that because Ramadan is in the fall (September/October). So throwing it in there w/ Christmas doesn't exactly make sense. :P Hehe.

Eid ul-Fitr follows Ramadan. Eid al-Adha is the one in December. (Actually, I might have gotten them backwards...)

Good luck to all the EDers!!

Yep you're right Eid ul-Fitr is the one after Ramadan. I mentioned it in there because they're all "end of the year" holidays, and I consider Sept. to be end of the year (or at least by then I'm already looking forward to it!)

Good luck to everyone, hopefully we'll get a chance to be the Rice class of '12!!
