1580/1600 SAT, 3.85 UW GPA, waitlisted at GWU?

delivery man, I KNOW! I know people who went to really easy private schools and who are NOT that smart and didn't have great stats at all and they got in. It is definitely Tuft's Syndrome so you doubters can stop denying lol. A mediocre school like GWU would NOT reject me or these other ridiculously well-qualified people if they didn't have Tuft's.

That's true. For schools like GWU past patterns have shown that with decent essays, no glaring red flags, and good ec's/grades, SAT's of 2250+ almost never get accepted...and instead usually get $30,000 p.yr. scholarships. This is a strange year.

Besides being a very strange year indeed and having unprecedented numbers at virtually every college........the bottom line is this, IF you are really considering going IF you got in, then you simply must call and plead your case/have your GC call immediately. IF this is a matter of your ego deflating, then let it go, because my hunch would be that they realized they were just that a safety, and read between the lines. These admissions people are much more astute then we give them credit for, and it is possible with all due respect that they saw that there was little chance you would attend if you were accepted. However if you really are interested and it is a great school....then by all means it is worth calling and confronting them on in the most friendly way however. Just make sure you are doing it for the right reasons!

Oh yeah I agree. I'm not trying to rant, I'm just kinda shocked I didn't get in but I guess I understand their reasoning even if it sucks. I just hope all of you that actually want to go there get in because you deserve to.
