OK - now I’m really confused! On the BW website, it says three 16 bar cuts need to be ready for auditions, but we received a letter that says to prepare three 32 bar cuts. Can someone from BW please find out the correct information before we flood you with phone calls???

Christie, not from BW, but the mom of one of this year’s auditionees – their printed information said 16 bar cuts, but someone from the College called when confirming the audition, and stated they’ve moved it to 32 bar cuts this year. They said they are in the process of updating their information, but 16 was old news.

Good luck with your preparation and audition.

My d auditioned last Saturday and you should prepare three- 32 bar cuts-they will choose two of them for you to sing. Hope this help and good luck with your audition, B-W is fabulous!

Thanks so much! Wouldn’t it be wonderful if the requirements were the same at all schools - wishful thinking!!!

Hello! I auditioned Saturday (which was an absolutely wonderful day, I would feel as if I won the lottery if I got in :p) , and several students had mentioned that the pianist said that the cut was supposed to be 16, although I sang 32. Your best bet would be to call the conservatory just to make sure. They may have changed the requirements. Break a leg at auditions! I’m sure you’ll have a wonderful day at B-W!

It’s DEFINETELY 32 bar cuts. I auditioned there and both the students and teachers said that numerous times.
