do you think that admissions officers prefer 1590s or 1580s to 1600s?
is it possible they derive sick pleasure out of rejecting 1600s? (they always talk about the number of 1600s they reject)
stupid urban myths

Not so much.

i doubt it matters. getting a 1600 will always be better than the others.

1600 will be better, but hardly

and schools like rejecting 1600s, so if you arent a 1600 but you are close, id say you are almost better.

I agree... in my opinion, the best score is a 1590 (I have no basis for this opinion, however - only common sense and a gut feeling).

Look at a 1590 and you think: "Wow, impressive score!"
Look at a 1600 and you think: "Remember now, we can't be swayed by just test scores..."

i hate college admissions!! LOL!

I would like to state that, in my opinion, 1590 is the best score ever, and all who get it are extremely cool. 1600s are for losers. Not that I have any sort of bias or anything...

1580-1590 will always be better.

1600= anti-social nerd with no flaws.

1580-1590= impressive well rounded individual with high test scores.

Colleges are always going to want to brag about how many applicants with perfect scores applied to their school. They're never going to brag about the number of 1590's.

Hands Down...

1590

I agree with you, Neostrife. Many colleges seem to like to brag about the number of 1600s they reject.

I am NOT antisocial!!! GRRR!!!

Well all the 1600'ers I know are certainly not anti-social

Seriously... not only about half of high scorers antisocial, you can't exactly make contrasting generalizations about two statistically identical things...

how absolutely unfair this stupid system is
maybe i should have tried to get one more question wrong so i could achieve that 1590.

lol they do brag about the 1600's they reject, I agree. But also note the number of 1600's they accept. Undeniably higher.

I'd rather have a 1590. It sounds more believable since its slightly imperfect. It has the same basic bragging rights as a 1600 IMO.

It's like in baseball. I'd rather have a 0.41 ERA than a 0.00 ERA.

I wouldnt worry about it much. If you have a 1600 someone will accept you just becuase it is a 1600. Getting a 1600 is a pretty low chance though was like 1000 people out of all the takers that have gotten perfect this year.

roughly 900 people out of like 5 million get a 1600 every session.
