18,600 applicants and 36% acceptance rate

<p>Good news. It is interesting that RPI actually got about 200 more apps this year than MIT. It’s likely been decades since that last happened.Their yield is still much higher which allows them to get 7% acceptance rate but this is still a great accomplishment for RPI. Also, RPI seems to be targeting larger classes (1400+). When I was there it was about 1150 or so. If they go back to smaller classes they could get an even lower acceptance rate. </p>

<p>I think the class of 2018 will crack the 1300-1500 25th to 75th SAT percentile which will place Rensselaer in very good company.</p>
