CC helps calm me down actually. If I don't have it there, I start thinking about admission decisions, which of course makes me more anxious.

seventeen days 5 hours and ten minutes :)

"Oh, and one extra note: when application time comes and you still have essays to write, please try to avoid this site until you finish. This site is procrastinator-central, and it's too easy to get caught up on the forums when you should be trying to write. I spent so much time putting things off until it was the week before deadlines and I still had 5 essays to write... Don't be like me!!!! :[ "

As a caveat to this, after you write your essays definitely get on this website to have people read it. SO many people on this forum helped me with my essays it was ridiculous.

cc is nice because because everyone's in the same boat. and the yale board is definitely the most cult-like one. hehehehe. :)

NJBKitty's post is TRUFAX. Seriously, this site makes me procrastinate SO much. :) so warning to you guys, go to a spot without internet connection to write your essays. LOL.

I took out my wireless card and buried it in my backyard when I had to write my essays.

I have met great minds on CC... an some not-so-good minds too.
I think CC has good and bad sides.
I will take that back. [the scale tips toward bad]
CC could be a killer

I think some kids are far too focused on college, and that comes across in the way they post and reply to other people. Sometimes it feels a little hostile. But bulldog is right, there are some great people here. Even hookem.

YES! HOOKEM!!!
Okay, so I think he is like the rockstar of the century.
He is absolutely absolut.

I think what I said before was too much. Enough of the name calling
LOL

It probably just means he likes you. Next he'll be pulling your pigtails and chasing you round the playground.

[pictures pigtail scene and laughs out loud.]
That is quite impossible. I am a 200m runner, and he would not be able to catch up.
He is absolutely welcome to like me.
Oh, and I will kick his feet. I have pretty strong legs [hello 200m runner].
OMG, can't wait for portugueseninja. Let March 31st decide.

"I will kick his feet" LOL. You kick his feet. I'm tall, I'll kick his head.

LOL, this Summer I am coming to Heathrow! I need to meet with you!!
We are the perfect team!

Are you really?? This summer I should be going to America! Are you in New York by any chance?

Yes I am in New York. I live in a not-so-great area.
I would not recommend you come here, no matter how brave you are.
I may be wrong, lloll.
and i would not be coming to Heathrow. My parents would scream in fright for 11 days if I told them that.
Where in America are you coming?

Daww, clearly your parents have no sense of adventure. Tell them you're going to England to meet someone from the internet. Parents love that.

Whereabouts are you? I'm visiting friends in Long Island. And will probably stay in Brooklyn for a couple of days. Hoping to go see Yale in person :D

My parents HAVE NO sense of adventure. That is why I have not told them I applied.
I think the internet issue would just leave my head hanging. No questions.

I could meet you in Brooklyn. I live... ok this is the internet. Slow down.
lol
You should see Yale in person. It would be an advantage.

I really think people are often way too cautious about the internet. Yeah sure, there are some weird people in the land of the interwebs, but there's also plenty in real life. I have a friend who says "you don't know who you're talking to, they could be anyone!" which is true. But then anyone you meet in person could easily be lying about who they are, what they do etc. As long as you exercise some kind of common sense about it all then I don't think there's anything bad about it, it's just another way of meeting new people.

I need to find a new job before I can go over but assuming I find one and can afford a flight I'll let you know nearer the time and if you're free we could possibly meet up for snackz and chatz!

Visiting Yale I think could work to my advantage. I read that they don't do on campus interviews but it would at least show my dedication.

What are your parents going to say if you get accepted?!

Yeah... the last week is the hardest.

Just suppress your thoughts...

Think about it. If you're stressing so much about it right now, think about how you'll feel a week before, the day before, hours before..... It's only gonna get worse. That's why I'm doing all sorts of volunteer work and other stuff. It helps distract the mind ya know... ;)
