I don't see how it could hurt to be well rounded as long as you take enough sciences, no basket weaving probably doesn't count :( but I'm sure we'll all get by. I'm enrolled in a Biology BA at Cornell and I'm not worried about it.

haha you obviously didn't take 42. his school is setup like mine. bio lecture=3 credit and the lab =1 credit. the bio lecture is equal to 3 hours a week but the bio lab is also 3 hours/week and it's only worth 1 credit. so 4 credits already =6 hours and you can see how it'd add up fast haha. my vert anatomy class i'm taking next semester is 4 credits and has 3 hours of lecture and 6 hours of lab/week. so 4 credits=9hrs for that, it's basically complete bs since it should at least be 5 due to the extra lab.

as for your courseload: I'm taking Basic Statistics (3 hrs), Writing II (3 hrs), TX Politics-Govt (3 hrs), Spanish I (3hrs) + Spanish Lab (1hr), and Chem I (3hrs) + Chem Lab (2hrs)

dude, yes you can do that. you'll be busy but you can definitely manage it, get good grades, and still have time to chill and go out or do whatever. basic stats=supereasy, writing=generally pretty standard and easy but i don't know if you have to read a lot (doubt it, it's writing, not a lit/history class), govt=might suck haha sorry, chem1+lab=easy to moderate (chem1 is never difficult, it can at best be somewhat challenging if you have a hard teacher), and finally spanish = not much work in general and especially spanish 1?? no way will it take up tons of your time. you're good to go. you'll do well and have plenty of time to have fun at the same time. it's just all about time management.
