18 Percent Increase in ED 1 Applications

Haha. The funny thing is that I actually come from a high school which only supplies coke products, so I am used to it. Pepsi really is awful. Its too sweet and just plain bad.

oh touche on that pepsi business, gross

hey you two.. tenacious and farb. i've been observing this site for a long long time and finally decided to join as it gets down to decision time. i too am an ED applicant to Emory, really feelin anxious about now. I'm just as in love with the school as you two are, as I loved everythin about it when I went down and visited my three friends who go there. just wanted to intro myself

sweet a new addition tenacious, now i can see that 18% increase, all of them were in hibernation or something lol. anyways welcome, what are your stats?

Always askin about the stats, Farbdogg. So how many people are we at now? I'm thinking something close to ten. Not bad.

asian american

Led 2 teams to championships.. named Coach of the Year, Outstanding volunteer, Volunteer of the Year, NJ State YMCA Alliance Volunteer Recognition Award.. nominated by them for the Prudential Spirit of the Community Award... got around 400 volunteer hours from that.
VP of my class, Pres Thespian Society, News Editor for school newspaper, lead roles in school plays, NHS, Spanish Honors Society, High Honor Roll. Got a lot of youth leadership stuff, run varsity track all 3 years, got captain and MVP all 3 years... i hope i kept that pretty short.

oh impressive, very nice, i think you have an excellent chance

thanks man. i think we all do and i hope we all get in. word on street is they goin to committee now (according to my counselor) and they'll be makin these decisions right up until the 13th, which they disignated as their last day of blackout and committee. scary stuff, i'm gettin so anxious right about now

We have a good group, don't we?

most definately... so close, yet so far away

of course!!!!!! no one has better applicants than the school in the capital of the dirrty south! lol, our apps kick ass over those hyp skanks lol

the dirrrty dirrrty is right. hotlanta.. welcome to atlanta where the playas play and we ride on them things like everday big beats hit streets see gangstas roamin.. and parties don't stop till 6 in the mornin!

You should look at the Emory thread on the old board. People from the class of 08' were saying how they frequently saw well-known rappers in clubs in Atlanta. Sounds awesome...

i wouldn't doubt it. but those clubs are such a pain to get into, i'm sure they saw them passing from the line that stretched a few blocks down as the stars made their way to V.I.P. Atlanta is home to some of the hottest clubs, namely Club 112, hence the group 112, but not only is that club impossible to get into, but pretty dangerous from what i've heard. but what the hell, i'm sure its amazing so it balances out haha.

Clubs aren't a pain to get into. They actually advertise it to the freshman class by distributing flyers to each room on your floor. Then you go, pay $10 or $20, sometimes differing by gender, and go inside (ID doesn't matter cuz it's 18 and up usually). The rappers have showed I think in three clubs this year. I'm not a big rap fan so I don't know who they were specifically but I remember the guy who sang "Locked Up," missy elliot, some kind of kwon (jay kwon?), and a bunch of others. Plus an MTV dj was at one of the clubs.

"Locked Up" is by Akon. Its J Kwon.. Those are pretty big names actually. Other than clubs, what is the night scene like? I mean, are there a lot of good restaurants nearby (cheap or expensive)? Though I might just be content going to the Buckhead dinner and the Clubhouse. Both very good...
