19 with only 3 high school credits, what is my best option at this point in life?

Had a really rough home life during high school. Didn't like going to school because I was made fun of for being poor. Skipped classes constantly my first two years. Ended up dropping out due to truancy.

Focused on making enough cash to support myself. Now I am self sufficient I think it is time for me to go back to school.

Problem is I have literally three credits. I'm not even sure what they are for.

I'm not stupid. Not exactly a genius but I learn fast and test well.

Option A: Do a high school completion program at local community college. They accept dropouts of any age. Basically the same thing as high school but at a faster pace and with less distractions.

Option B: Get my GED. And then sign up for community college courses I guess? Not sure if a ged makes me eligible for actual college courses since i have no other education.

What is my best option at this point? I'm already self sufficient so time/cost is of no real importance. I'm interested in chemistry, business administration, and psychology. Any advice/experience/help would be greatly appreciated.

Check if your community college you will be attending to accepts GED. If they do, take the GED so you can start taking classes for your major in the future. Option A will take time out of you since you can just take the GED, you know? Because you’re at the age where the majority of the humans start their life, and you have the right to do so asap.

If they don’t accept the GED, go for Option A and make sure to pay attention so you can recieve the education you had the right to access to.

Best wishes to you and your future. :)

If I were in your situation, I would test for the GED at the next available chance (unless of course you need to study) after you pass, you need to go to your local community college and get enrolled, earn your AA then transfer to on of your states 4 year universities.

Success Story to help motivate you:
My father skipped often in high school, he graduated with a very low gpa. Went to Miami Dade Community College and then transferred to FSU, he now makes several hundred thousand dollars a year. How you perform in high school doesn’t determine your future.
