1st year Community College students not eligible to transfer to Amherst?

<p>Hi! is it true that students in their first year of community college are not eligible to apply for transfer to Amherst no matter how good he/she is? my friend who is currenltly attending a CC in China would love to apply for transfer for Fall 2008, but bear in mind that she’s not a typical community college student; she has attended a full year in a university in London in the previous academic year. WHat are her odds in this case?</p>

<p>"A student is eligible for transfer admission to Amherst if he/she has at least 30 transferable credits as a full-time community college student in a liberal arts cirriculum. Two years of college work is preferable."</p>
