Hi, im new to this website but I want to know what are my chances to Harvard, Boston College, MIT, and all of the other IVY leagues/ top 30 schools

GPA: 2.57
rank: 178/197
sat score: 1170 (400 math, 400 reading, 370 writing)
extra-curricular: chess team, debate team and 2 years on the soccer team

I will be applying to colleges next year and want to know what IVY leagues I should apply for and which ones not to apply for! My older brother had similar stats and was rejected to 15/17 IVY leagues/colleges and he got into Columbia university with a lower gpa and a sat score than I have. please chance me!

Am I the only person who senses the presence of a ■■■■■…
Almost all ivy kids have 3.8+ unweighted GPA. SAT scores should be 2100+ for all Ivys. Your ECs don’t even cut it. There are only 8 Ivy League schools. And HOW is it possible that your brother got accepted if he got lower than you…

what is a ■■■■■? and yeah my brother got into Columbia, he got deffered from early decision and got into the waitlist and eventually got in the school, the other school he got into was AU

@mohamed123 but columbia university has the SECOND lowest acceptance rate in america. its median SAT score is like 2200. its median GPA would be around 3.8. and you DEFINTELY need beasting ECs to get columbia, so how is it possible that his brother got into columbia with an SAT score and gpa lower than his own? remember, this is columbia university we’re talking about lol

Although my brother had very low scores, he was an excellent writer. We came to america as refugee’s after the Rwanda genocide. My brother was born there while i was born in the USA. My brothers essay is about his memories when he was 7 at rwanda and it was an excellent essay about how it still haunts him. I think the thing that helped him was the 760 in biology and 690 in chemistry.

and his sat scores were really low because he only took them once in the beginning of his 11th grade year

Guys, cut him some slack. Obviously, he has some extenuating circumstances. I don’t think he’s a ■■■■■. Maybe this is why people think the CC community consists of elitist snobs. But the thing that confuses me is the 15/17 ivy league rejection thing. I thought there were 8 Ivies, no?
