Luckily for me, AP Literature and AP Physics 1 are testing on the same day, and I’m signed up to take both of them.
Everyone has told me that I’ll be dead after AP Lit, and that is probably true. I’m definitely more serious about the AP Physics 1 exam because I might have a chance to get college credit on it, but it’s expected that all juniors in my school (I’m a junior) take the AP Lit exam.
After taking the ACT, I was pretty drained, and I feel like AP’s take a similar amount of energy out of you.
Should I just cancel the AP Lit exam? Or is it possible to do both and not die? I really want to do well on physics, but I’m already signed up for the lit exam. Any advice would be very much appreciated.
It will be good practice for college when you will have 2 finals on the same day with no opportunity to cancel one. Just take them both. Thousands of students before you took 2 AP’s on the same day and survived; you will too.
What skieurope said. Both my Ds did AP Euro & AP Hist on the same day; both also did 2 different languages on the same day. Not fun, but the Lit will use completely different parts of your brain than the Physics. Strongly suggest planning your food for the day carefully though: protein & complex carbs- not sugar!- for breakfast and lunch.
@skieurope @collegemom3717 Did they do well on both? I don’t want to spend all of my energy on english (which isn’t my focus) and then be drained for the exam I really want to do well in. Sure it might be similar to taking college exams, but I only have 15 minutes in between each one. These AP exams could have an impact on where I go to college, and don’t want to do mediocre on both… As of right now I’m still going to take both I guess.
@shakashow Normally, AP scores are not looked at for admission into colleges.
They did- 3 5’s & a 4. As PhilipL says, your scores won’t hurt your admissions to college at all. But I don’t understand the 15 minutes between them- it’s 8-11 & 12-3 (tight, but not 15 minutes).
Imo it’s not a huge deal if you don’t take it.
I’ve had 3 instances where I had 2 AP exams on the same day. With a couple of those (micro/macro, Physics C Mech/E&M), many people are taking both exams the same day. In my case, I scored 5’s.
You can, if you choose, opt not to take the exam; it will not matter for college admissions. However, personally, I think you should just go for it.
D is taking AP Biology and AP Physics C on the same day. Not fun.
