I'm a junior. Since I'm applying to colleges next year I was wondering if you needed proof that you actually did the volunteer work because I volunteered my saturdays my sophmore year to help kids but I never asked for a signature of hours or anything since I felt awkward about it.
So do I need proof for things like this.

Also, I was wondering if the amount of credits I have in high school makes any difference to colleges.
In the four years of high school so far I never taken a study hall and have 5 semesters of high school not including the semester I'll take after this year and the classes I'll be taking at columbia over the summer which actually won't be counted for credit.
I feel like I could have done better had I taken a study hall or given myself a break during the summers or something. Do they take this into consideration?

I've never been required to prove my volunteer work and have been accepted to a few places already.

Courseload always matters.

Colleges, especially selective ones, do care whether you have taken the "most rigorous" courses available to you. A curriculum littered with study halls and crib courses will have difficulty attaining the "most rigorous" designation.

What is a study hall?

^ haha, nice.

No, I'm serious, I've never heard of a study hall. I just assumed it was a free period where you study somewhere :|

hahaha yeah it is what you assume

When I said 5 semesters of high school I ment summer school.
