At is purest, professional wrestling has much in common with morality plays: its stark oppositions between good and evil, and honesty and guile, create a world of ------- of -------.

(A) bereft .. theatricality
(B) exclusive .. adversity
(C) emblematic .. happenstance

I know what these words mean, and I've double checked with a dictionary, but I don't see how any of the choices fit the blanks. Perhaps I am not understanding what the sentence is trying to say? Could someone please explain the answer?

Feeling that the committee had too hastily decided several important issues, Councilman Chambers asked for further consideration to be give to his colleague's proposal. No error

I chose E, but the answer key says that D is wrong. Could someone please explain why?

Thanks in advance!

for the first question is the answer B or A? both actually seem plausible but b seems to make more sense, if you confirm that with me i can explain further, but i want to make sure if i’m right.

I think the first one is E. Since stark oppositions is opposite of ambiguity. And devoid would make opposite work. I guess.

In the second question, it should be “asked that.”

None of the words in the first question fit grammatically.

I think there’s an extra “of” before the first blank. Typo? If not, then that question does not work.

Yes, there is an extra “of” in front of the first blank in the first question. Sorry about that. Shizzle, could you please explain your answer a bit more? I don’t really get it. Thanks.

The answer is E because the phrase “stark contrasts” means that nothing is left to doubt. If there is no doubt, one can say that something is devoid of ambiguity.

Hey I got it right. XD

Ok, Thanks a lot, everyone! I got it now.
