2 teacher recommendation letters ONLY

I want to double major in philosophy and economics
I’m not sure from which teacher I should ask recommendation letters from since I’m very close to the guidance counselor, principal and I’m team captain of the girl’s volleyball team. All my teacher’s know me very well and I’m sure that they will write me strong recommendation letters. I also spend a lot of time in the library and helping out in the library.
Will a recommendation letter from my principal be strong/an advantage?
My choices:
-High school principal
-Guidance counselor
-English teacher
-History teacher
-Math teacher
-P.E/volleyball coach and head of athletics department
-Librarian

I can only choose 2 I think as Canadian universities don’t even require recommendation letters and some only as for 2.
Help me please!

If a college asks for a teacher rec (or 2), they want it from a teacher , i.e. someone who has instructed you in an academic classroom setting. If on top of the teacher(s) rec, it asks for a GC rec, it means it wants a rec from a GC. If the college allows additional recs, then, and only then, can you choose from additional people.

If you are submitting a principal rec (assuming s/he did not teach you in class) in lieu of a teacher rec, it will be a disadvantage - that’s not what the college asked for.

Thanks,
McGill asks for “Two letters of reference: One academic and one activity-related letter of reference.”
Will I be able to have my principal write a letter?
Is there a difference between reference and recommendation letter?

Unless the principal can speak about an activity you worked with him/her directly on (and could serve as your activity related letter) that letter should not be sent to McGill. If anything it would demonstrate that you are unable to follow simple directions. Sounds to me like the two letters for McGill should be one from a teacher of your choice and one from your coach.

In general US colleges don’t want more than 2 teacher recommendations, 1 guidance counselor recommendation and possibly 1 supplemental recommendation from a person who knows you in a non-academic context (ex. your coach, a boss at work etc.). You should look at the specific requirements in terms of LORs for each college you apply to.

IMO a letter from a principal would not provide an advantage unless perhaps it can speak to something specific and extraordinary that you have done at the school.

More is not better in terms of recommendations.

Or as we also say, sometimes the thicker the file, the thicker the kid.

Thanks, which 2 subject teacher I should ask them from then?
-English teacher
-History teacher
-Math teacher
All 3 know me very well but I just want to know which subject would be more helpful or give more insight about me.
