2 Weeks Left!

YES! Since St. Paul’s has not accepted any student from my country, the same goes to DA.

Although L’ville, PA, PE have students from my country!

If you don’t mind me asking, which country ar eyou from?

I believe secrets won’t make a man woman. So you guess what my answer is :)

@ballerina22 Omg … My list is almost exactly the same!! :)

I’m mainly trying to get on with my life with not-so-brief spasms of complete and crippling anxiety.

@Purpleswirl my cousin got rejected from a selective school today and now my confidence is in shambles. The acceptance rate for the school was like 7% and my cousin is a chess prodigy so now I’m “not-so-brief spasms of complete and crippling anxiety”.

I feel like if a school will reject my super smart and talented cousin, I’m the dust under the broom that they’re using to sweep us out.

Well, I personally feel that if schools can reject the prodigies on CC, then I have no chance at all. And the fact that I am just an average girl in an average family…

@GoldenRatio I feel you. I’m averagely above average. It’s just. Sigh. Everyone’s saying “don’t worry! You’ll get in. You’r smart and talented!” And I’m like “So is everyone else.”

Please don’t stress out about it, I’m sure that you guys have a great chance of getting admitted.

Oh, and a great way for passing time is watching How I met Your Mother on Netflix =P

I find it asinine that I am still thinking my SSAT score was too low, my essays weren’t good enough, and that I could’ve done more, when my application has already been sent and my fate sealed. It’s just the feeling that you know there is nothing left in your power to change your fate, and that lack of control is getting to everyone :(

PREPQWILL you have been accepted as My New Best Friend. Revisit dates will be sent later on. Please confirm your placement and place a deposit by now.

I love HIMYM so much. It’s the best show ever and I can quote obscure lines.

@CellyZ I was doing my psych homework and it’s a proven fact that lack of control makes humans unhappy. Even from as early as one month, infants show displeasure at control being taken away. I can give you the facts about the study if you want it.

@PxAlaska: I don’t know about CellyZ, but that definitely piqued my interest! Can you please give us more details?

I don’t wanna pull out my textbook so here’s what I know all off my memory:

An infant was given control of a mobile (the spinny things on top of a crib). Whenever he/she moved a certain body part in a specific direction, the lights would turn on. Then when the control was taken away, but the lights were turned on at the same frequency, the infant showed facial expressions of anger. When control was given back, the infant showed facial expressions of happiness.

The scientists then let the infant play with the mobile for as long as he/she wanted. Eventually after the infant mastered the skill, he/she played with it less and less. When presented with a new a challenge in which the lights would turn on using a different body movement, the infant would regain interest.

Based on all of this, the conclusion is humans enjoy control naturally.

Who wouldn’t want to control people I think

Not people necessarily. Just over external stuff

Yes! To be more accurate
