2005-2006 Coca Cola Semifinalists

anyone know where the next step is going to take us? any ideas about essays etc?

don't idea so far? anybody?

My D applied for the scholarship, but hasn't heard anything. She said yesterday that two boys from school had gotten e-mail notifications of their semi-finalist status. I'm wondering how they determine the semi-finalists. D has better gpa, ec's, test scores and more volunteer hours than both of the boys who were notified (she knows this because they are both friends). Do you think they have contacted all semi-finalists?

I got the e-mail a couple days ago.

I heard from some frineds that got it last year that Coca Cola looks at pure numbers. The next art of the app has sa's, rec's, etc...

I had over 400 hrs of comm service, state president of an organization, several leadership positions, several clubs, and a difficult curriculum.

but i don't think i'll make it any further. still, i'm pretty proud that i got this far. YAY!

and to those who haven't heard anything yet - i doubt they send all 2000 emails at once... i'm sure it'll come. don't be disappointed yet.

if you want to know if you're a semifinalist go to the website...go to more info - finalists and semifinalists - then pick your state and see if you're one of them!

" D has better gpa, ec's, test scores and more volunteer hours than both of the boys who were notified (she knows this because they are both friends)."

Aye...I'm glad we aren't bragging...

Last year 102,000 people applied. They narrowed it down to 2,000 semifinalists and then to 250 finalists.

I'm sorry ... I certainly didn't mean it that way. I was just trying to figure out how they determine semi-finalists. Sorry it came across that way.

I got the email, but have yet to get the official letter. Anyone else have that problem? And if you got the letter, when did you get it?

I haven't received the letter yet but you can access the application online.

I don't understand for the Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation recommendation letters. Does it want two from school officials or one from a school official and one from somebody who knows you from outside of school?

Or either scenario?

I'm a semifinalist and got accepted to Drexel all in the same day. Man, I'm actually looking towards finals now.

to sljaeger, I have the same question.........anybody knows the answer?

Whats the latest people recieve letters?

yayy-got it too. They're letting us know pretty quick-by mid February or something. Good luck everyone! :)

mannnn, 4 more essays -_-, and i have not started... hopefully i can get it done by tuesday

everybody post what happens once they know-hopefully some of us get to go and meet! :)

Is the site down? I tried the site several times this weekend, and it may be due to severe traffic near the deadline date, but is anyone else experiencing this problem??

and one more question for other semi-finalists - if we upload the forms, do we still have to print them out and send them?

Are you guys a little excited? February is going to go by so fast and May will be here before we know it. Can't wait.
