2005 Commencement Addresses

Just for kicks, I'm interested in who is speaking at what college's commencement ceremony this year.
I'll begin with the ones that i know:

Northwestern: Sen. John McCain
Stanford: Steve Jobs (founder/CEO of Apple and Pixar)
Naval Academy: Pres. George W. Bush
Calvin College: Pres. George W. Bush

USC: alumnus Neil Armstrong

The University of Michigan keynote speaker as this year's graduation was John Seely Brown, Michigan alumnus, former chief-scientist of Xerox Corporation and leading contemporary thinker on the influence of technology on modern life. Doesn't sound as impressive as the usual speaker at Michigan but I hear his speech was quite impressive.

i just heard on the news that Cheney spoke at the Air Force Academy

I wish McCain weren't coming to Nu.....

Ithaca College: Ben Stein

I saw John Seely Brown speak before (not for a commencement speech). If I remember correctly, he was pretty interesting for having kind of a dry topic. I actually don't remember it that well though.

I know one of Georgetown's commencement speaker(s): the Crown Prince of Asturias, Felipe de Bourbon. I can only assume he's speaking for the SFS, although I got this list from the Washington Post.

GWU has some correpondent from 60 Minutes. I forget his name.

American has Senator Daniel Inouye, and a few others.

GWU had Andy Rooney.

Ashcroft spoke at Northwest University ( not Northwestern)
Marian Wright Edleman spoke at Colgate

BU had the president of Afghanistan, who had just begun his visit to the US.

He wasn't the keynote speaker, but Warren Beatty gave the commencement speach for the public policy kids at Cal.

Denis Leary at Emerson
Tom Brokaw at Emory
Hillary Clinton at Agnes Scott

Tom Hanks at vassar

gentleman: i remember reading about Beatty's speach at the public policy school at Cal in the SF Chronicle. I hear it was a really good speach about california politics. Apparently theres some talk that he wants to be the democratic candidate to take down arnold next year.

Tommy Lasorda at USC

Hamid Karzai's address at BU was pretty amazing, at least from what the news articles said. Makes me proud to be going there.

Duke -------> Ricardo Lagos, former Duke grad, president of Chile

Hillary Clinton also spoke this year at Manhattan Marymount College... ive never heard of it.

Penn (general commencement): Kofi Annan
Wharton: Alan Greenspan
