For prospective students, McGill has released the profile of students admitted in Fall 2006. There is a great deal of useful info, including # of applicants by faculty, number admitted, and median GPA and SAT/ACT scores of accepted students. The web address is

My son just graduated this Spring. It was a wonderful experience for him. The academics are rigorous and the school bureaucratic, so students are on their own to succeed or not. If you child is independent, motivated and not too easily frustrated, they'll thrive. And in just casual conversations with my son, I can see he got an excellent education.

Also, the city of Montreal maybe the best place to be a student in North America, if you can take the cold. It's filled with opportunities for all types of intellectual, social and physical activities. Better still, most are relatively inexpensive and well-suited to a student's budget.

I only wish his younger sister was interested in going there.

For US Students it says "12th Grade GPA: 3.7 (0-4.0)" does this mean 12 grade gpa only or entire school year? many canadian students in highschool have told me that canada's admissions for the GPA factor only count for grade 12. however, i never really could believe it. this page that you just posted kinda makes me believe it now, but i'm just wondering if any of you guys know about this. it sure doesn't seem to be published alot.

yea, canadian universities onli look at your gr. 12 marks, so they usually ask them to send marks in november, february, march and june. Decision letters are usually sent by the end of May as opposed to April for AMerican Schools.

not true jillioyo. mcgill has said that american applicants may now hear anytime between Feb.1st and March 31st. Its rolling in the sense that there is no set decision release date.

no. if you were canadian they would only be looking at your 12th grade marks. for US applicants they look at 10th 11th and 12th, placing the most weight on the later years.
