I don't know which books are used, but here's the description from the registration book.

AHSE 2199
Special Topics in Arts Humanities and Social Science
Subtitle: Six Books that Changed the World
Instructor(s): Martello
Credits: 0-0-2-0
Hours: 4-0-8 in half semester offering
Pre/Co-requisites: AHS Foundation
Why and how do certain books reshape the course of human history? In this course we will explore six books, selected from
different times, societies, and genres, that have had an unquestionably major impact upon the world in which we live in. Class
meetings will alternate between contextual studies of the historical context of each book (including the authors background,
the political and social setting, and other factors) and careful analyses of the works themselves. Our discussions will
investigate each books contemporary and modern impact while also exploring the qualities that caused all of our selections to
have such an enduring and global effect. Students will be expected to contribute to class discussions, make presentations, and
write a report on an additional book of their choosing. NOTE: this course will be offered during the first half of the spring
2006 semester, will meet twice a week, and will require approximately 12 hours of student effort each week.

I just talked to my advisor and I am skipping both Mechanics and Electricity and Magnitism and I am going up to Modern Physics! It should be pretty neat. I am happy with this because it opens up just one more slot (the slot I would have otherwise needed to fulfil at my state university) to complete my double major.

that's awesome hopkinslax! i HATE physics and i wish i could skip all this mechanics and E&M stuff - some ppl are just naturally good at physics but I don't think I'm one of them. but here's what i'm hoping to take for my WINTER quarter (like the Cali schools, Northwestern's on the quarter system...)

Organic Chem-2
General Physics-2
Psychopathology
Brain Misperceptions and Urban Dysfunctions

Rochester is EXTREMELY generous when it comes to AP credit... Once I complete Modern Physics I will have 24 usable college credits because of APs... So in essence I am one semester ahead which opens up so many opportunities when it comes to taking additional courses

ITCS 3102 - Programming Languages MWF 12 - 12:50
PHIL 3050 - Language and Society MW 4 - 4:50
PHIL 3114 - Contemporary Philosophy W 6 - 8:40
PHIL 3275 - Metaphysics R 3:30 - 6:20

No classes on Tuesdays!

Taking a break with 12 hours this time and maybe get a part time job or get more involved on campus. Only got 12 classes to go before I graduate. 4 classes for the next 3 semesters sounds good to me!

Anthropology
Art History
An upper-level Poetry class
Statistics
Music of the World (it's gonna be amazing!!)
An Honors Program facilitator thing - basically I'll be teaching a one-credit class with another person to freshmen honors programs students next year

Piano Class (worth a credit, so I'll count it as a "course")
European Philosophy in 17th Century
Math (don't know which one yet, but I have to take it 2nd semester)
Art History (don't know which one, but I will take one 2nd semester)
Freshman Seminar
Political Science-- South American politics

Calculus (Differential)
Psychology of Advertising
American Government
Physical Anthropology (Online)

All in all 16 hrs right now, I'd really like to drop Physical Anthroplogy for Psychology and pick up US History in January for a total of 19 credit hours.

OK, scratch what I said earlier because I got completely shafted in my registration time.

So now I'm taking:

Evolutionary/Ecological Bio (+ lab)
Organic Chem (+ lab)
Exercise for Health and Lifestyles and Health (divisionals)
History of Western Music (8 am twice a week. ugh.)
Pep Band

...for a total of 13.5 hours because EVERYTHING WAS FULL and I couldn't get into any other divisionals. I'm on the waitlist for three classes and am hoping that they open up some new sections...

Literature Humanities and Frontiers of Science (CORE classes)
Adv. French Grammar and Comp
Post-1945 American Lit (Flannery O'Connor!)
Imperial Russia 1628-1917

Next semester I'm only taking "14" credits, but I'm still gonna be super busy. (Taking "21" now) I use the quotes, cause as a music major, we don't get the real credit hours for a lot of classes

Anyway, I'm taking:
History of New York State
Exceptional Learner

Woodwind Techniques - Clarinet, Flute
