Daughter received her finacial aid award letter today....showing Estimated cost of attendance at $19, 573.00, instate.

Checking the website, 2006-07 fees list $17,764 in total fees, including travel, personal expenses and books. Is this the estimated increase? UVA' total costs appear to be about $2000 more than William and Mary. These are daughter's top two choices and trying to compare each financial aid award.

I thought W&M was a little more expensive in the past, although maybe their R&B went up less than UVA's. I haven't seen W&M's COA for next year though, I did look yesterday but couldn't tell if it was for next year or not.

weird...I got my acceptance letter the day after they mailed it...and i still haven't received my financial aid letter yet...I have baseball practice 10-12:30 and I will be running to my mailbox as soon as I arrive home. Wait, is there mail today?

Is it possible that the Family Contribution is 5 times larger than the EFC? My award letter does not have any Grant except the Access UVa grant which provides minimal help.
I want to go to UVa but i can't afford the loans which is equal to the grants. And only the family contribution is already twice my parents' income.

Call the financial aid office. They can best explain how AccessUVA works and can answer specifics about your package. It's hard for anyone on here to answer because we don't know your financial background/how the FAid office decides.
Good luck

Contact Financial Aid on Monday, IhateCR....that doesn't sound right at all. PM if you like. I've gotten pretty good on the financial side of applying for college. I'll help if I can.
