Does stanford require the activities essay on the common app, or just the long one (topic of your choice)?

Since this is the first year they're going to be using the common app, they'll probably add a supplementary section to the regular common app. You can expect to write one long essay and around 3 short essays.

they have already released the essays... it says to complete the common app but on the website they only have 4 esssays

I thought the activities essay (150 words) was required of everyone.

I heard some people say going with the original application is better (?)

could anyone post a link to the essays on the website? I can't find it

Disregard this post, I have a tendency not to read the first sentence of College Webpages xP

That's strange. They list the Common App long essay but not the Common App short answer (?).

Then again, since one has to write the EC short answer for the Common App (and all other Common App schools) Stanford will see (and read?) it anyway, right?

whatever, you're going to be doing the 150 short one anyway for the common app. And you're sending them the common app, so just send everything

they probably don't consider the short answer an essay, so they just don't mention it. you definitely have to do it.
