<p>^ The reason for the large fluctuations was due to methodology changes (one of the reasons this ranking has been so heavily criticized - can they at least settle on a consistent methodology?) The addition of student/faculty ratio definitely hurt the publics from their rankings when this first came out (UT Austin from 20s to 60-70 is one of many examples). Similar to USNWR, the peer assessment component has tended to remain relatively consistent, fwiw.</p>
