sr1001, it’s your fault don’t blame it on the proctor.

The SAT essay is written in pencil and doesn’t it go through similar shipping/processing/scanning procedures? No one has problems with their SAT essay wearing off, right?

And I’m not blaming the proctor. I obviously should have known to use one before the test, and I’m an idiot for that. But the fact that I asked her and that she said it’s totally fine to use a pencil is not fair.

The SAT and AP Exams are not the same test.

Yeah, it sucks, but what are you going to do about it now? It’s over. Just chilllll.

@blakebengals

They are administered by CollegeBoard, so it’s not too much of a stretch to think that using pencils on the AP is fine because you’re supposed to on the SAT.

Just because they adminster both tests does not mean they have the same policies. All you have to do is go check on the collegeboard website. It takes 2 minutes.

To clarify, I agree that it doesn’t make sense that they should have the same policies. I understand they are completely different tests.

My point was that the CB said it will be scored as long the pencil doesn’t wear off. I was pointing out (and hoping) that since the CB administers both tests, they are shipped and processed in the same way. If the SAT essays are written in pencil and don’t wear off through shipping and scanning, why should the AP essays?

I would think that there would be more AP tests in one sitting than SATs

Sats are taken multiple times, aps once a year. APs get shipped around more, etc etc.

Then again, more ppl take the SATs than the APs

@blakebengals-- yea…you really need to curb your attitude.

@the person who wrote the essay in pencil-- you said you only did a small portion in pencil? if so, you should be fine.

no, sr1001 needs to just stop whining.

I don’t think sr1001 is whining. It’s more like he/she is worried.

Anyone with half a brain would be worried, just like sr1001. That would suck so bad if his/her exam did not get scored because of that simple error. Of course, it will be scored, but still.

@blakebengals
considering you’re on this website as well you’ve probably been worried about something and posted it on cc. i think you should be more sympathetic and if not, refrain from commenting.

@sr1001 - as long as its only a small portion, it should be fine.

Multiple choice was alright. About eight I made educated guesses on and one I should have left blank, yet stupidly answered it. I feel the MC was harder than some of the practice tests I’ve taken. The essays went better than I expected. The DBQ wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be, and the first free response question was SUPER easy. The 2nd free response, one of the paragraphs I filled with fluff but the other I had a lot of info…

Do you think the AP people partly base their grading on the essays on how long they are?

Crash Course saved my life on the MC, so I think that went swimmingly. My DBQ was complete BS and only about 2 and a quarter pages long, but I think my FRQs went really well because they happened to be exactly what I had studied. As soon as I saw question 3 I wanted to sing with joy.

I have a technical question - I know we were supposed to begin each essay question on a new page, but can you begin a new question on the opposite side of the same page? [Paranoid, I know.]

jacmoo, No I have never been worried about something and posted it on CC, go and check all my posts. And even if I was worried I wouldn’t say my situation is unfair for something that I could have easily prevented.

blacnheur, it probably doesn’t matter, I guess as long as you circled both questions at the top of the page they would know but the fact that you are completely switching topics would let them know its a new essay. basically, it probably doesn’t matter.

Multiple Choice = the first third was super easy and then got tough. I put myself in the 55 to 60 correct range. Maybe a little higher if I’m lucky. None left blank.
DBQ = A tough time period. I thought I could have used more outside evidence but I got some in there and I felt my analysis was very good. Slightly harder than the average DBQ.
FR = I picked number 3 and brought in so much outside evidence it was ridiculous. Couldn’t stop talking about this topic. I wish I could have written about number 2 too. Super easy.
FR = I picked number 4 because I couldn’t think of anything about number 5. This was my weakest essay, most of it was fluff but I had some original thoughts in there. I hated both these choices.

I took APUSH last year, (in vague terms of course) does anyone who took it this year think the DBQ topic was more difficult than the Form A and Form B DBQs from last year?

ClubSandwhich: Im like EXACTLY the same, except im in the 60-70 range.

What do you think you got?
