Invitation from NYU Sackler today :)

@pentaligin

Yale has sent out at least some of its invites for the immunology track as of December 15th.

does anyone know if Harvard Neuroscience invites are all sent? From what I was able to ascertain from last year’s thread and gradcafe’s results, they were all sent at once last year (a bunch were sent December 18 this year). I’m assuming a rejection for myself. Meh.

Yale MCGD track has sent to me.

@biodude: hey congrats on your interviews! are you a domestic or international applicant btw?

Just wondering: for the purpose of interviews, most grad schools will treat international students who are currently attending schools in the U.S. (graduating seniors in particular) as ‘domestic’ students, right? I guess I just wanted to make sure that they’d invite these students to their campuses, rather than conducting phone interviews…

hey oncogene, congrats on the columbia interview! did you apply to the integrated program as your first choice?

xxxxxx, I am really glad you posted that link. I have no idea why I have been freaking out – almost none of the programs I applied to had sent out invites by this time last year, just as you all mentioned. I feel better about getting 2 interviews so far after reading the info on that link (VCU and Sackler)… On a more depressing note, I got the Princeton rejection today (although I knew that was a long long looooong shot – they said they had 130 applicants for 7 spots.)

Congrats to all of you getting calls from these incredible schools.

@ linkage85 - Thanks for the congrats. I’m a domestic applicant.

@sfpassc:
Yes I applied to the integrated program only.

For Yale: I call them last week and they said they havent reviewed any international applications yet. They wont do it until first/second week of jan.

@oncogene - cool, I applied to the basic cell bio program but they put me in the integrated program instead. It’s an umbrella program so I’m not too concerned. Seems like there are lots of neuro faculty there too!

Hello all,
I have been going through the pages of this forum and wondering if there were any PhD Pharmacology (concentration) applicants who got any reply yet from Yale ,Harvard (BBS),Tufts,Emory,BU,Weill Cornell?

Is this the right forum for PhD Pharmacology applicants to the above mentioned schools?

@pcology29:
I am following the Pharmacology track as well and from your list I applied to Emory, I have not heard from them yet.

Just heard about an interview from Tufts Integrated Studies Program with interview days Friday, January 22, 2010 or Friday, February 12, 2010. Not sure if I will be attending.

I don’t think Harvard BBS has started looking at applications yet. I don’t think most Harvard departments in general have started looking at applications yet, since someone in the GSAS office told me they’ll still be filing documents (i.e., GRE scores and transcripts) this week.

I’m domestic, applying to mostly biochemistry type departments within biomedical programs and I’ve gotten interviews now from UNC Chapel Hill, U. Chicago, and Northwestern (all were email but Northwestern). yay interviews!!!

kryptonsa36:
dunno whose post you’re referring to, but Harvard Interdepartmental Neuroscience functions a little bit differently than their other BBS programs. Typically, invites are sent out earlier and interviews are required. I believe that other departments invite you to campus to visit but this is optional. Someone correct me if I’m wrong.

I was responding to pcology29, who was…

Be that as it may, I assume they still depend on GSAS filing all of the applicants’ documents. Are they offering interviews without necessarily having complete applicant portfolios?

Dunno, but invites were sent out in the week before Xmas the last three years and I can’t find any evidence that any invites were sent out at a later time. Interview weekends have traditionally been in late January.

Newly designed website says that invites are sent out in late December.

i got an email from harvard saying that the next application deadline is december 31st 2009. what’s up with this?
