Someone on FB (wow sounds like the B-W thread already) said they got their Miami acceptance packet in the mail yesterday. Anyone else hear anything? With all these out there I’m freaking out for the mailbox today and won’t even be able to check it until late tonight! :O

Check online. We saw online but have received the packet in the mail yet.

I checked myUM ID online and it said I was accepted into University of Miami and that I would be getting my packet soon. I auditioned for musical theatre. But it didn’t mention anything about musical theatre. What does that mean?

I received a large packet in the mail today and was super excited but it turned out to be an acceptance into the theatre arts program…oh well.

I checked myUM online. Admitted to the university but where do you go to see whether you are accepted into MT or not?

thats what I got today and then i got a letter in the mail…it said i was accepted into the theatre arts non-conservatory program. not for musical theatre which is what i auditioned for…

Does anyone know how many people are accepted into the BA Theatre program at Miami?

The BA Theatre program is a non-audition, so I would guess a decent amount? I applied to U of Miami but decided not to audition…today I got a packet saying I’d been admitted to the BA Theatre program and have a good academic scholarship…so I’m not writing it off. Can you audition for BFA MT after a year in the BA program?

I think my D is the FB “acceptance”. That was reported incorrectly, after more careful review, we realized that it was for Theatre Arts also (with a great academic scholarship). What threw us off is that she also was notified that she was a finalist for the “Singer” scholarship (full tuition. ). We assumed “singer” as in MT, well…duh, it’s a man’s name Singer. Oh well…still a great honor but disappointment on the MT side.

That is great! I still haven’t heard a thing. My online account says I’m “still in review” and my mom is assuming that’s for academics, as they probably have the MT class already decided. I know that Miami is a school that sends out academics AND MT in one packet so that’s why I haven’t heard either way…

Does anyone have a feel for the comparison between “theatre arts” (not MT) at Miami?

Now my status stays “Waitlist”. Anyone know if that’s academic or for the program or both? Just want to get my letter already! :)
