2011 January SAT: Math

ugh don’t tell me I plugged in 0 for y and 1 for x… so much for a perfect score :S

@interficio:
look at the very first pages of this thread.
i think the first one CC’ers confirmed was the hexagon one…

Hey guys, I have a TI-83+ and this seems like a really stupid question, but how do you scroll up to see all your entries? I tried 2nd and ALPHA but 2nd only makes the screen brighter/darker and ALPHA doesn’t do anything.

^
Try 2nd Entries?

Yeah, no scrolling on the 83’s. You have to use 2nd+ENTER, but that’ll only bring up past entries one at a time.

Is there a consolidated list running for math?
If not, could we have one?

I’m almost positive it was list caffeine content from greatest to least

someone confirm?

@Necktie

It was definitely least to greatest: Cola, Tea, Coffee. I’m pretty sure that corresponded to Option E.

Now im thinking maybe I put that :confused: Ugh i can’t remember, it was such an easy question…

I hope i didnt read it wrong

it was least to greatest. The answer was basically the items in reverse order that they were presented, i.e. bottom -> up, right?

yea simply reverse order, cola, tea, coffee

^ yeah
And I felt paranoid cuz it was the only answer that started with Cola (two started with tea or coffee!)

for the question that went 1/n-1/(n+1), does anyone remember the answer and the choices

^
Wiki “Telescoping Series” It’s the example in the introduction. The answer was 50/51

Does anyone remember the graph question, it gave you a value on the x axis and it matched up between 3000 and 4000 i think was the answer 3700 or 3200

@CollegeBound25 – It matched up between 5000 and 6000, at approximately 5500. The correct answer was 5700.

thank god i didnt miss another easy graph question :D

did anyone else notice on the radio probability the question asked “what is the probability the second one is ALSO not defective” ok so they didnt emphasize also but i thought it was a tricky slip in there so i did 4/6 * 3/5 which is 2/5. idk just me. I felt like they would have left out the also had they just wanted the second one. Any thoughts?

@chazzyb I thought it was 2/5 too because of the “also”. I had 3/5 down at first, but switched it to 2/5. The wording really had me confused, but I think the correct answer was 3/5.

Oh no! I might have put Coffee Tea Cola! NOOOOOOOO! I really hope I didn’t but i think I did. NOOOOO. thats a -2 on math :(
