January 2011 - Math Level 2

Thoughts??

I thought it was pretty easy compared to the first time I took it.

It wasn’t too bad but that might also mean that I didn’t do well on it. I omitted two and wasn’t sure on about two of them. What did you put for the question near the end of the test in which the answer was either 4/5 or -4/5? What might the curve be?

I only did 40/60

Completely lost track of time

I got 4/5

for the line L with distance 2 apart, is it the cylindrical one?

I did cylindrical because it said in a space, not coordinate plane.

anyone remember the question with the answer as either 4/5 or -4/5?

It was -4/5. Cosines are negative in the second quadrant. And yes, it was cylindrical.

That test wasn’t very difficult at all.

great, thanks. what was the answer to the gloves question?

The minimum number that guaranteed you would draw a matching pair? I got 4.

4 gloves.
+++++

I got 4 also

What was the answer to the dog age and human age question? I put I and III, not sure though.

I put I only, i got 54.03 instead of 51 with g(6)

I and II, I think. The first one was right, and so was the second because it gave you ~40 for g(6), which was less than f(7). The third I remember being incorrect.

I and II
+++++

Basically, f(4)=28 and g(6)<f(6) were correct, and g(8)=51 was incorrect.

I don’t think III is right - it is 54.03. However, I put I and II as right because II said that the age of the dog described by the 2nd function is less than that of the 1st function (if I remember correctly), and if you plug both functions into the graphing calculator, that’s true at around x=5.9. I’m not sure if they’re going to be THAT picky on it not being exactly 6, but whatever :P

Anyone remember the question with ‘r’ and ‘s’ being prime numbers greater than 2? I think I got that question wrong :frowning: I put the answer as ‘None’ are true because I took r=3 and s=5, however, I is true if r=7 and s=11 :(

“I” only is true for r and s

Yes, that was what I assumed after I finished the test :stuck_out_tongue: Oh well. How do you think the curve will be?
