2011 NBA Playoff Discussion!!!

Except that both teams get the same number of possessions, and if a player on team A can score the same number of points as a player on team B while using fewer possessions, then the rest of team A has more possessions with which to outscore the rest of team B. That reality doesn’t change in the last 5 minutes.

Last 10 seconds and last 5 minutes are very different situations.

Except they don’t. At all.

Steals, forcing turnovers, offensive rebounding (second chance opportunities), defensive rebounding (limiting opponents’ 2nd chance points) all contribute to asymmetry in scoring opportunities. A team with a high rebounding rate will get many more second chance opportunities and thus more possessions, which will more than offset any minor disadvantage in shooting efficiency.

I think you’re confusing possessions and shot attempts.

And you ignored the point about how often Derrick Rose is getting the ball compared to LeBron James again.

The Lakers looked very shaky in that win last night. They won’t go far playing like that.

Go Spurs and Thunder!

Lakers are the best team in the NBA when they want to be.

Holy S*** what an incredible game.

D Rose is insane.

Chicago definitely looks beatable at times but is it more than other teams?

I’m hoping for a Bulls vs. Heat ECF, and a Thunder vs. Lakers WCF. It’s a tough call between both of these two match-ups, but After the way D-Rose played today, I’ll take the Bulls over Miami. As for the Lakers vs. Thunder…well the Lakers are still the 2x champions and they have a habit of catching fire in the playoffs. I’ll take the Lakers over the Thunder.
As for the Finals, I just wanna see Rose take it home.

ECF-Bulls
WCF-Lakers
Champs- Bulls

MVP-Rose
Finals MVP-Rose

anyone know where i can watch it online? no tv :frowning:
pm me pls

Spurs and Lakers both fall at home. Didn’t expect that.

East: First off, the east is stacked BUT Miami hasn’t got a chance against Boston or Chicago in any 7 game series, Boston slaughtered the heat all season, 3-1. The heat will have their time, not this year if Boston doesnt stop them chicago will no contest. I see Chicago and Boston, don’t know what’ll come out of that but it’ll be good. Dwade was discussing missing the game earlier due to a headache …pshht

West: Lakers are done, no way will they make it to the finals, weak, not the same team as last year, lamars to focused on his new BS reality tv show haha, OKC is doing alright could get far, spurs were great during the season but they aren’t playing great where it matters, i see them doing a lot better though, The Mav’s are also up and down, the west is more up for grabs.

Should be a great playoff season! GO CELTICS!!

“Boston slaughtered the heat all season, 3-1” one thats not a slaughter, and two, this year i believe they’re 1-1, and the most recent match was a blowout win for the heat.

having watched the teams so far, Miami look like they have the goods to take the whole thing out.

A Lakers first round exit would make me SO happy

well… Boston played their bench that whole game so its good the heat starters can beat the Boston bench, but whenever Boston played their starters and were healthy the heat couldnt beat them, the key there is healthy

Oklahoma City is gonna win the championship because KD and Russell Westbrook are gonna score 30+ points each every game.

^If OKC learns how to play some D, they might have a shot but I don’t see them beating LA, much less Miami or Chicago.

unfortunately my rockets arent in this, but from the games ive seen with okc i think either theyll win it all or the heat are gonna pull a fast one, i hope not, they dont deserve it at all. lol

The first round is over now. It looks like Oklahoma City will face the Lakers in the Western Conference Finals. Miami vs. Boston will be an interesting matchup

Boston’s performance is disappointing me… Now we need 4 straight wins, ugh!!!

I think Lakers-Celtics is just about the last Finals matchup I’d like to see. Maybe if Dallas and Atlanta played each other I would care less.
